Got the front steering axle assembly roughed in and tacked and the rear wheels attached. Flipped it over for the first time and it rolls so smooth. Next I will build the T-handle assembly and get a better fit on the two boxes and get them bolted in place. Also cut the metal for the stretched area and weld that in. Next week I got another fun project I been wanting to do for a long time. I have 12 brand new go cart slicks I bought many years ago . I bought 25 of them and never used all of them for my models. I may use 4 of them on this next project. table on 8 tires.jpg

T-Handle parts welded together and all painted. Trimmed the two boxes to fit nice and snug beside each other. Almost done with box #2. I have enjoyed so much using the first work cart with everything so organized. It really is a very practical design.T-Handle done.jpg

Thanks !!
Today I finished box number two and got it painted. You can see 6 of the 14 go cart slicks I have left over from model building. Tomorrow I will mount 6 of them on rims and get things around for another shop improvement project. I have kept costs very low by recycling everything. I often have to roll several boxes into the front garage when working on garden tractors so these custom boxes will be so much easier to move. In two weeks I will do Number three !!, I have one metal table left and and two more cheap Husky bottom tool boxes left. It will get the same look as the second one. I will put hitches on them to hook them all together and pull them out with the garden tractor all at once. Mostly these are just fun projects for this old retired guy. I also now have 16 steel wheels from these boxes for some kind of future projects, ha,ha. Just fun to putter at my age. slicks.jpgslicks2.jpg

I have been trying to figure out why you painted them IH red instead of JD green and I think I finally have an answer. The small JD green parts will be easier to find lying on a red toolbox!!

That's one reason !, ha,ha.ha. The other reason is I'm getting tired of John Deeres and I'm ready for some IH stuff around here , LOL :confused3:
I only made it to the shop today long enough to mount 2 of the go cart slicks. Tomorrow I will get 8 more of them mounted. Also now I have 20 steel wheels left over from all the tool boxes for future little improvement shop projects. The third table project I am going to do different than the first two. Much quicker process. I hope to also get going on the next project tomorrow. rims mounted.jpg

Thanks , Thats my little red Shop Corvette , LOL Almost ?? Not Really !!! Ha, Ha
Today I worked on table number 3 , got the bottom shelf lowered , removed the wheels and mounted new larger ones. Not happy at all , very wobbly and tipsy. Friday I will remove them and go back to the 8 tire design with T-handle. When I lifted the table off the floor it actually tipped over the opposite way and landed on my brand new John Deere . It put 5 nice sized scratches in it. That convinced me these little swivel wheels were No Good for this application, ha,ha. table 3 too.jpgtable 3.jpg

ha,ha. Bet you weren't laughing about those scratches. I feel your pain.

SHOCK , about the scratches, ha,ha. I keep everything waxed right up. One scratch on a brand new truck or tractor is rough !!, but FIVE !! is Terrible lol I did not swear that day but I been swearing ever since , tee, hee , hee.
I got back to the shop today and got the front steering assembly all assembled and welded to the table. Tomorrow I'll remove the little tires and enjoy the new long wheelbase with 8 tires with lots of stability. I still love the first two rolling tables. My shop has never been this organized. This is the first time EVER I will get full use out of all 13 toolboxes. The labels aren't pretty but I no longer have to pull 3 or 4 drawers to find something. I love it !!! front assembly number 3.jpg
