plowing with a L3200 hst

I doubt you'll have any problems, I easily pull a 2-12 MF with my L3400. I have Ags and gear drive, but there's not that much difference in dry soil.

I don't know why but I really enjoy watching dirt being plowed. I traded (Milkman) for a single bottom mold board plow a few years ago and it looks like a work of art from outer space. Watching the dirt roll up and fall over is, well nothing like it.
I took the wheel off of it last year to cut some ditches to steer my water run off at my rental property. I dug those ditches everywhere :D, looks like hugh gophers went crazy on my property. Bad thing was this spring I had to start mowing and driving across and thru and around all those ditches with dirt piled on one side. Actually popped the tire loose from one of the rims going across one while making a tight turn. So, I took the plow off and mounted the tiller and tilled all my drain ditches and drove thru the center of the tilled area to make depressions in the center instead of 6" x 6" ditches. Much easier mowing now.

I hear what you're saying, it's a near-religious experience for me too. I think a moldboard plow is one of the slickest pieces of machinery ever made for a farm. Such an elegantly simple design that works so smoothly it's amazing. I prefer to plow sod under, but simply plowing an old garden under is fun too.

I will say that the 2-12 puts some load on the tractor, the engine is definitely working when the plow is cutting. You'll likely need 4wd unless you have loose soil, although I've never tried without using 4wd so I could be wrong. My soil is heavy clay, so I have the wrost-case scenario, especially if the ground's a bit wet. Nearly buried it last fall, had to lift the plow to get some load off and get out.

Power won't be the problem, getting it to the ground efficiently might be. Neither the L3400 nor L3200 is overly heavy, which is the limiting factor.
