Yep ..not a thing wrong with that Moss...The folks that get in trouble are the ones that order the great big burgers with large fries and a shake...Yikes...LOL
Problem is Moss....when common sense says someone 50+ yrs is Way Old enough and they ask for your ID...then that is a foolish Law...and I suffer Fools and foolish laws poorly ! We are over regulating ourselves and turning out educated idiots....I talked to a friend the other day that complained about college grads. she hired to work in her store and they could not make change and I said yes, like in the past before the new computerized registers tell them how much change to give, they don't know how to count out the proper change when someone pays...She said NO ! She said " I mean when the register tells them how much change to give back...they still can't figure it out ! " How does that grab you.?![]()
Ok look at it like this. Your leaving HD and some teenager just bought liguid nail, sniffed it in the parking lot and got high. He leaves the same time you do and hits your car injuring someone. Now if they had ided him and not let him buy it he wouldnt have been there. That alone makes me glad to show my id. This was just an IF not direted at any body.
Does this happen often, has anyone heard about liquid nail abuse before this? If so what is the percentage?
Okay lets say I was a dopper, they ID'ed me, which proved to be a waste of time, I go out sniff up and still cause an accident. What good did ID'ing do?
Chances are with your above example junior probably would have been high on something either way.
part of the id'ing thing is liability for that exact reason. If a person is over age, hufs some glue/paint whatever, and kills themselves the store isnt liable.
If someone is underage then the liability picture becomes more complicated.
Blanket, "We ID everyone" rules prevent the cashier from having to make the "how old is this guy" call and potentially open up the store to liability.
Are you. 20 20 going to go out and sniff glue, i highly doubt it personally, however the store cant make that distinction.
This thing gets a ton more complicated when you look at meds containing ephedrine. Im in favor of any system that stops or slows the spread of meth. That includes id'ing and recording names of the people buying the precursors to the drug. (yes even coleman fuel and lithium batteries)
FWIW...Blanket, "We ID everyone" rules prevent the cashier from having to make the "how old is this guy" call and potentially open up the store to liability.

I do wonder how many farmers here are one the goverment dole/farm subsidies...? Because then of course it's okay for big brother to be involved in your life right?
*sigh* I know that, I was using hyperbole to illustrate how absurd his claim was of having his rights violated.
