Congrats on a job well done!!! The cement is probably the most overlooked, but most important part of the building. If its not there, nothing else matters, you just wish you had it.

"The floor is ~ 4 1/2" thick and I put a 8" deep swipe between 12' to 17' in from the front garage doors so that I can install a 2 post car lift some year"

Any chance we can see a few more pictures of the inside. I'm curious about the 8" deep Swipe you mentioned.

The barn looks nice. About the same size I was thinking of.

Eddie,

Thanks for the congrats!
I wasn't going to pur the floor this year but I said the heck with it and did it anyways! It is so nice to have a concrete floor in the barn especially since I will be using it as my work shop.
I also want to say thank you for your help and suggestion when I was putting up my trusses!

wedge40,

I do not have any pictures of where I dug the floor deeper as I did not take any prior to the pour. Sorry about that.
All I did was dig the ground and made sure I had a good layer of stone or as we call it run-a-crush under the whole pour. I dug down a good 4 extra inches in the mentioned area and tapered it on the sides to bring it back to 4 1/2 inches. I also laid some drain pipe under the floor so water would not sit under it as this area is all clay.
I hope this helps!

kodiak88,

Floor was around $2,600. Price included 4000 lb concrete with fiber mesh, fiber board around the perimeter, rental equipment (Float, gas power screed, gas powered finish trowel and concrete cutter).

For the doors I just set the elevation with my laser level to the height I wanted the floor, marked the 6x6 and when I installed the doors I made sure the bottom of the rails started at the lines I marked.

Hope this helps and good luck with your pole barn. Can't wait to see pictures of your progress.
