When its -20 or -30F with the wind howlin and you can feel the house movin, the driveway that you just plowed is all drifted back back in, you dont have to worry about anyone knockin on your door ! Although its not for everyone !

I think you would like the spring and fall, its in the realm of reality weather wise !

You might add that a January thaw means it is twenty below, four feet of snow and one he** of a blow.

The winters can be long and to avoid cabin fever you have to get the toys to play in the snow with. Nothing nicer than walking half a mile out on a lake, cut a hole through two to four feet of ice and go fishing. Stay all day and catch one fish!

Then there are the snowmobiles that go really fast some over 100 MPH now get on that at -20 and go out for a 100 or 200 mile ride.

Sure looks like a pretty, peaceful, and comfortable place.

My neighbor across the way had that pier put in last spring/summer. I've forgotten how long it is but I know it cost a pretty penny. As you can see in the other pic my pier decking is so rotten we can't use it so I guess that's a project for spring.
Here's a not so peaceful spring Nor Easter while they were building it. I thought the pile barge was gonna break loose. The pier finally went 4" under water.
