Porch Views... East Wells,Vt

Great Thread. Thought I would post my porch view of our world.

A beautiful shot of the mountains in the distance, any idea how far away they are ?

Hi Scotty. That is my view lookin east off the Front Porch. Those are the Hualapai Mountains. Prononced "Wall a Pie". They are 18 miles east of me. I have built several "off-grid" homes out in those Mountains. Elevation at my house is 1320'. The Hualapai's are 7000'. Get to see snow on them every year.

Good Afternoon Guys,
I tried to get some closeups of my hummingbirds but forgot to select the high def option on the camera!

I also took a nice days end shot, just another shot across the valley but it just seemed more vivid in color than usual.

Scott, great idea starting this thread. The views are simply wonderful. As I sit here looking out my office windows at traffic and no mountains (real estate business, Sunday's you know) and after seeing all of those pictures, I have come to the realization that I will move to the country before it's too late.I live just a few miles from Amish country farms and i'm gonna go get me a country front porch with a view. It won't be Vermont,too chicken to move up there, but Already have the camera and tractor.

Good for you, yea cant beat country livin !

You wont be sorry you did it thats for sure, it beats traffic, row after row of houses, and large amounts of people !

Actually there are a few of those windmills just over the border in Ny. I think you could actually get used to them over time !

Yep that is where those are located out on route 11 near Chateaugay! I would say there is nearly 200 of them out that way. One would think it would be okay to have them in your backyard, and it would be really great if free power came with them.

Good Mornin Rob,
Tell Loretta that she can take some humingbird pics for me anyday ! My problem is this old Kodak DX 3500 digital Im using is an antique, great for tractor pics and so on but for zoom work and real good quality it stinks ! Kathleen has the good camera with the telephoto lens etc but I never seem to have that camera when I need it !
