I recently acquired a Baldor 6000 Watt generator powered by a 9.9 hp Hatz diesel engine. It's a 1 cylinder with elec. or recoil start rated at 3600 rpm.It starts right off and seems to run real well but I have never heard of the Hatz engines. Looking on the net I can't find anything negative or anything real glowing about them.
Have any of you had any experience with them? I'm just interested in others opinions as they are new to me.

Hatz is a common diesel in Europe used for all kinds of smaller equipment...

I've never owned one, but I have seen them before, on equipment...

LOT's and lots of info about them in all kinds of sizes on line...

Not a Hatz but I have a Yanmar diesel air cooled single cylinder 6 HP generator with pull start. One of the best pieces of equipment that I have. Always starts with 1 pull.

I have a Yanmar clone on my wood splitter and it is very impressive, this was what got me interested in this Hatz engine. I just haven't heard of them being used in this country and am curious about actual experience with them.
