Possible Fix for BX 50 Series Abrupt Reverse Stop?

I've got kind of a different point of view about this. (That's not uncommon for me) My BX24 does pretty much the same thing and I HATED it for a long time. However.......after using it that way for a while, I got used to it and even learned to like it! I'm forever having to move a pile of dirt or gravel from point A to B. After scooping up a load and backing up, "popping the reverse pedal back up" shifts the load farther back in the bucket and you don't lose as much of it on the way to point B. This lets you start backing up alot sooner (before the bucket is fully curled up) and saves a little time. As for the sudden stop when doing other tasks, I realized after while that I was automatically letting the pedal up slower without having to think about it. Just MHO.

I had the fix done. It worked great for reverse. Slows down real slow and controled now. The only issue is if you hit forward before a complete stop it will snap. It is much better and worth the 3 weeks of shop time.

so the reverse and forward flow has been swapped ?? Pardon me , but this is what it sounds like.

Good to know. Not sure if I'm getting the same work done or not, they said they are coming to my farm and doing the work there.

Hopefully you will be there when they do the work and take notes for us ? hopefully some pictures if it not too much, no need to take pics of the kubota rep, but the actual process they did. Inquiring minds is dieing to know.

Will do. I will take the day off from work the day they decide to come (if they see this as a viable fix after they test it on one at their store). I will take notes, ask many questions and take pictures of what they do and post them the same day.

No, that's not the case. Only on quick transition for back to front while still coasting back. And before you could never coast back...just snap to a stop.

As I promised to keep everyone updated on this "fix", here is the latest. Got home late tonight and had a message on my answering machine from my dealer. He tested the fix on a 50 series BX on his lot and DID NOT see a big improvement. He wants me to call him tomorrow to discuss. If he is willing, I think I will go ahead and ask him to do the "fix" on my BX. If the regional rep has seen some improvement on other tractors, maybe I will see some on mine. More to come...

Hate to be the poop in the punch bowl Thavil, but until there is a definitive resolution to this problem, I would not waste your time sending the BX to the dealer. I have an 07 - 24 and have been following this "Holy Grail" trail since purchase.

Manonthehill sounds as though he has had good results, but until Messicks blesses the fix I will remain skeptical . . .

That's right THAVIL don't try something free to fix a problem you have that may not work!!! Course if it were to improve yours then some of the rest of us will have to decide if we want to try something that helped one persons tractor but not someone elses. NO, No don't do it!!!
