Post driver info.

Hello all, i am needing to install several hundred feet of non climb field fencing on my property and would like some input on having my posts driven or pounded as opposed to using auger. I am not sure of the procedure or cost of this or if i even can find someone to do it. Would like to get some advice on how to go about hiring someone for this type of job, is it the right choice, what equipment should i expect them to have and what can i expect to pay. Will be about 200 6" round posts. Any info greatly appreciated.

Hello neighbor!

I put up hundreds and hundreds of 6” posts in the past few months. Here is what you need to know: Call Pasture Management in My. Pleasant. They are about 20 miles South of Denton. This isn’t where you want to buy your posts. They will deliver bundles to you and you are gonna need about four bundles. Or, buy three and and whatever lose number you need to finish you can buy from me so you don’t wind up wind up with a lot of extras like I did.

They will rent you a post driver as well. It was under $600 for a week rental. Pulls behind your truck or tractor and is totally self contained. Could not ask for a better way to put up posts. Saved myself a LOT of money compared to hiring it out.
