I'm getting in the market for a PHD w/ a 9" and 12" auger from my B7610.

It seems the low price new are TSC and lienbach, while Danuser, Woods, and Bush Hog turn up frequently mentioned for higher end. I'm pleading for recommendations for "the best bang" for the buck for what will probably be occasional use. Although this summer I've got about 300' of fences to build.

Very few used turn up in my area (Washington DC), there's not much farming going on even though they produce a lot of bull manure.

Always keep checking farm auctions. I got mine (3-point type) for around $225 give or take about 6 years ago at an auction.

For occasional use, a low end one is probably fine, especially if the dirt is not rocky.

I have a Landpride PHD15 with a 9 inch auger. All I have ever needed. They are not cheap. I don't like to waste my money on stuff that doesn't last. I dig to many holes for that.

For infrequent use and a tractor your size I think most anything will work. I have a Land Pride PD35 I bought my augers from TSC. I agree to keep your eye out for used deals. I got mine off Ebay for a song.
