Mike I posted this in the 'New Forum" before finding this one...

One thing I've noticed is that when you view an attachment in a post and press the "back" button to get back to the thread, you go back to the top of the thread instead of to the post that had the attachment. Have you already addressed this? Did I miss it? Or is there another way to return to that post in the thread without using the "back" button?
Thank you,
Rob-
I can't reproduce this. When I view an attachment, then hit the back arrow in my browser (Firefox), I go back to the post with the attachment. What browser are you using?

SUBJECT: Show Images

One of the options I have set is to Show Images including those in the IMG tag -- yet all attachments show up as a link.

I thought that having this option selected would put the images inline or is there another option for this?

I thought inline images were frowned upon?

Yes, GLOBALLY, but not on an individual basis.

Dave & Andy,
With this software, showing pictures is an ADMINISTRATOR option. Photos can be showed several ways with this software, the three I see used frequently are: a) a link; b) a small thumbnail link; c) an inline photo.

The ADMINS can also determine how many links, thumbs, or inline photos they will allow. So for example, they can allow only 1 link or they can allow multiple links within each post.

Personally I like both the inline photo option and the small thumbnail option, and I like to be able to see several within each post. The small thumbnail option allows people with dial-up modems to see a small preview of the photo, and it doesn't slow down the pages too much. For those of us with highspeed modems, certainly inline is the way to go! The ADMINS need to figure out what is best for their site, they chose simple links, can't beat that for speed.

I am having the same problem here. The back button takes me back to the top post in the thread.

Hi Mike
I am having a real problem with the search function. All most all the time I get a "No Match" answer.
For instance... useing both the basic search and the advance search, looking for a thread that I know is here, I entered both "Questions about a grapple" and "Question about a grapple". I also tried entering the posters name Pineridge in the advanced page and the only return I get is
Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms.

I like the new software in all ways except the seach function. I used to be able to find things I wanted but most of the times now I get the message above.

I am sure it is just me but I think I need a little help here.

Thanks

I recall reading that the new messages database has not been indexed yet for searching. I imagine that will happen when the faster servers are implemented in the next few days.

Webmasters,

Can the code be modified to reorder the links in the “Quick Links” pulldown?

Sometimes my “target acquisition” is off a little when I’m zipping around with the mouse. When I intend to select “Today’s Posts” and miss, I would rather pick “Open Buddy List” by accident instead of “Mark Forums Read”. I think just moving “Open Buddy List” up one position in the list would help. Please see attached.

Just a suggestion.

Thanks,
MrBigNose

Oops, didn't think about that, Mike. I'm using IE 6.0.2900.2180 with the SP2 update.

I am using the same version of IE that bird is using and my browser jumps back to the top, on Harvs latest thread. But not always. Rarely it will stay where it suppose to.

Which Forum and which Thread?

That's a puzzle to me, because I've looked at all of Harv's pictures, and when I click on the "Back" button, it goes right back to the particular post that the picture was in.

Rick
Thanks.

As someone mentioned earlier, it seems to be related to how many posts are in the thread and how far down the thread the attachments are.

I clicked on attachments in the 6th post and when I hit the back button in Firefox it does take me back to the first post in the thread.

OK, so I tried that, looked at every picture in post #6, and when I clicked on the "Back" button I went back to post #6 every time. Must be those gremlins at work again.
