Those WoodMaxx are top of the line. I was gonna buy one... they're built in Akron, near my hometown of Buffalo, NY. I ended up getting an Echo Bearcat CH9540H at auction. I haven't run it yet because I still have the backhoe on the 3520H.

However last night I bought a second tractor at auction:

It was a good deal from what I could tell and fairly close by to where I'll be using it. I've been wanting another tractor so I can use the Branson for the FEL and backhoe and the other tractor for things like the finish mower, the brush hog, core aerator, post hole auger, box blade, etc.

Anyways I'll be picking it up this week and fingers crossed that it's in pretty good shape.

Hey good luck with the new tool, Bob.

Using my new to me 4720 and backhoe for the first time digging out a stump. I'm going to build a tractor/wood shed. The hoe is an Amerequip.
I did have to cheat and put my beater chain and bar on my chain saw and cut some roots.

I don’t think that’s cheating at all , that’s smart because I popped a hyd cylinder on my hoe trying to force it , that old beater chain is much cheaper than a hyd cylinder, smart thinkin

Thanks Slim. I just arranged for the shipping which is gonna be another $800 so total cost is about $3800. I can't wait to have an equipment trailer some day. Probably sooner would be better the way things are going.

Totally agreed. Digging out stumps and roots is really hard on the backhoe. Much better to weaken things up with other tools when possible.

I wasn't sure where to put this and I didn't want to start a new topic so here it is. This is a specific concept that many tractor owners fail to grasp:

I'm not that smart Dan. Lots of rocks in Maine.
I tried to pick one of these rocks up just to see if I could.
It did pick it up but it was about all the hoe wanted.

Just getting started on cutting up and splitting 12 cords of firewood from a load of logs that were just delivered. I plan on pulling the logs out a ways individually from the stack with the tractor so they can be bucked easily while cantilevered off the ground.

Man what I wouldn't give for nice straight logs like that.

Those would be made into timbers and lumber.

☺️

It is a mix of red fir and white fir. The white fir isn't all that great of firewood. It isn't very dense and burns quickly. Good for warming the house quickly. Red fir is a great wood for fireplaces. Burns clean and slow. It is indeed straight enough to make some nice lumber if one had the right equipment.... but then I wouldn't have any firewood. The short big round log behind the splitter is cedar. It would make great furniture lumber, but it is going to be kindling instead.

While it isn’t working, it’s about to hit the road to head home from the dealer. Lots of work to do once it gets there.

Nice tractor.

What work is getting done at the dealership?
Thanks!

It wasn’t at the dealer for work. I had just purchased it and was taking it home. Along with the few attachments I got. You can see the 70" tiller in the back of the truck, and the loader bucket is strapped to the forks.

It has 28 hours on it now. So far so good. Have a couple of minor repairs to make. Climbing in to the cab I stomped my foot on the step to knock some mud off my boot and one of the welds broke at the top left bracket where the step is bolted to the tractor. I also have a torn dust boot on the left-side tie-rod assembly from the extensive sagebrush clearing I have done.

I also found a black piece of U-shaped tubing on the ground underneath the tractor one morning. It’s about 1/8" in diameter, and has a piece of foam filter in the bend. Haven’t been able to determine where it came from yet.

I think she is brand new, heading home for the first time.

That 4820 is a real nice machine, have fun!

Thanks! And yep, she was as new as a shiny freshly forged penny. Had to wait about a month for the dealer to receive it off the ship. Then it spent a week getting assembled and prepped at the dealer after they received it.

U shaped tubing with a foam filter could be your fuel tank vent hose.
Without it could get dirt and water in to the tank

Didn't think about that. I will take a look. Thank you!
