It's obvious that Delta 3-2 is "Bitter" and clinging to guns and religion while not able to accept people not like him (us tractor owners). This man needs a tractor. Some quality seat time followed by the personal satisfaction of a job well done would surely provide a needed attitude adjustment.

Now I'm off to change over my snow plow and weights for my MMM and FEL and get ready to do some fertilizing next week.

Another "wow" thread.

I was on BBS's back in the dialup days and dealt with all the netiquette and flame wars and what-not. Then the same stuff in USENET, right into forums and blogs. Really soured on it quick and only turned to them when I needed to research something - and hating weeding through all the BS noise and childish rants.

Hit TBN the same way - but it is different by far - what a great community! Not only informative, but truly a community. I don't feel that anyone hides behind anonymity on this site. Netiquette isn't spoken here - threads are hijaaked, bumped, lots of "me to's" - whatever - that is half the fun - because the tone is usually generous and polite - even in the flaming. And the noise is still pretty informative and/or at least entertaining (lot's of aspiring or out of work comedians here)

As far as the original topic - price check is fine - but you don't need this forum to determine that unless you need to hear "Great Deal" or "You got screwed". Most of the responses offered ways to increase the "value" of the OPs purchase. Value IMHO is generally much more important than cost - whether in business or personal transactions.

That said, it goes without saying that this place has a very broad interpretation of value - "more is better"......:D

I am interested in BX's, so found this thread in a search. read page 1, jumped to page 4, then said wow, what did I miss.... lol

thanks for all the comments regarding BX's and what to get with them. It's amazing how our "appetites" grow. I also want just a little tractor with a mower so my son can help me mow. I started by looking at riding mowers at tractor supply, but I just keep reading so many negatives about them, that I thought I'd check on a small kubota with a mower. Like so many others have stated, I just can't buy a tractor without 3pt and a loader, and of course I would love to have a BH, so now instead of buying a $1500 CC rider from TS, I'm now getting prices on BX24's with a mower and waiting for the BX125 to appear :)

I'm sure my wife will step in any minute and I'll have the $899 rider from TSC.
It sure is fun shopping for tractors.

buckeyefarmer,

The Kubota site just posted the new BX2660 ad. There are some great threads regarding this new model with lots of input from some dealers....worth reading. It looks to me like you're downsizing your tractors, ha! You wouldn't need a garage for the new rig, just park it under the
L5030. Let us know what you decide. Dyer, retired

Steel is going up higher than anyone can imagine. So the prices you have there to me seem high. However, read my first sentance and it may not be anymore.

Some thoughts. Go bigger than you expect. So the 23 is the way to go. Also the 60" deck is necessary.

You live in the heart of lake effect country. Not only is the snowblower a must but I would think the FEL is also. You have 0% going for you. Make your money work for you in the meantime and buy all the stuff at 0% vs whatever it'll be in the future.

Buy a heater block for the engine. The first time you try to start it a 5 below zero you'll know why I said this.

If you have time shop some more. But if service is important to you then the local dealer is the way to go.

thanks, Unless I sell the L3130 I don't think the wife will allow me to get another bota, lol... I asked, she already said NO!!!

So yea, thinking of downsizing, but if I do, it will be bx24 or wait for the bx25.

the L5030 is on the farm, will keep that one their. it actually does work. My L3130 is used mostly for mowing with 6' RFM, some rotory mowing, and any other excuse I can find.
maybe could get the woods BH for the L3130, but it is 7K or so. I will probably end up getting a throw away riding mower for my son to mow with.
