You are right, it is possible.

But the most probable time for a diesel to gel up is in the first few minutes right after starting. That is when the fuel and fuel system are at their coldest. Once you can get some warm return fuel recirculating, and engine heat warming the fuel filter, you are usually good to go.

That first five minutes usually lets you know how your day is going to go.

Power Service in the white bottle certainly works well for my needs in cold temperatures. It was -24.7C (-12F) yesterday morning and my tractor started and ran fine. The block heater was plugged in for a few hours.

It's only -8C (17F) this morning but there is another 6" of snow on the ground. I am waiting to go out though as they are calling for "a wall of snow" heading our way- maybe another 12" or more.
