i would like to remind you the 422 and the 425 use to be the same machine only dif. was the engine and the roof.mine was $5000.00. the new 425 is $9500.00 right? a new kohler 27 hp. is $1500.00 new wheel motors with a internal brake are $278.00 each, with twice the torque.that is the great point of the pt. you can do a lot to them. if i think i need more lift height al i would do is add to the arms.for less than $3000.00 and a little work the"smaller 422" would smoke the new 425 at less cost /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Johara1, could you expound on the internal brake? I take it this is a different wheel motor than the current production units use?

I've seen some motors with brakes. They require some hydraulic pressure to release. If you lose pressure, they lock up and stop the unit.

I'd like to see the specs on the motors. I'm starting to find hydraulics very intersting.

Cool! I wish those were on the PT-425. I assume they have a third port for that?

The ones that I saw did. And they said they could take the full PSI of the main load that drives them. So I imagine you could either put in some sort of pilot circuit to power the brakes or just hook it up so that when you mash the treadle they release. They didn't take that much pressure to release as compared to the 2500PSI of the main cicuit. I think it was under 100PSI.
