Problem With New Yanmar??

It's more than obvious to most of us that the responses and opinions given were directly associated with Travis' continued quest for help. In nearly all of his posts he asks questions and nearly all the replies were helpful aiding him to zero in on his problems.

Now Travis might not be the sharpest new Yanmar owner, but he is convinced he has an overheating problem with your product...even the gray area of 5' and 6' implements being used, whether they contribute to the overheating problem or not, most certainly puts you in the position to void his warranty if another failure occurs. But before that happens, why don't you just fix his tractor? Sometimes there just isn't enough profit on a unit, or the logistics of pick up and delivery are a nighmare, but.....a swap for another YM2000 that you have personally checked out and guarantee would make him happy. It is what makes for a very strong foundation for your company, reputation and customer satisfaction in the years to come.

I JUST GOT THE RADIATOR OFF................... I have to admit though, it didn't look that bad at all just by looking in it................I let water from the water hydrant on the side of the house run through it..............Water was NOT pouring out the bottom like I think should have been, but the water was real clean................Water was a little more than a drizzle when it came out...........THEN AGAIN, IT MAY NOT BE ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT.....

I have agreed on me taking the radiator off and bringing it to my local rad. shop..................RCO has agreed to pay the bill of getting it re-cored, if needed...............If the rad. can't be fixed, they'll send me another one free of charge, like it should be..................If the rad. is NOT the problem, I'm not sure where we'll go from there...........I have some ideas, but will cross that bridge IF and when we get there............

But I agree with you too......If any tractor(s) has to be delivered to or from their place, I will not and should not have to pay for any shipping/delivery charges...................

RCO will make it right for me............I can tell just by talking to them...............After the conversation we had today, I feel MUCH better and in a way I have a little 'peace of mind'...................

I HOPE the radiator is the problem with the tractor. I really enjoy being on the YM2000..............If not, I guess i'll just need a bigger tractor, but I would not be able to afford it at this time................Thats when I think RCO will do something about getting me a little bit bigger one................We kind of touched base on that some..............

Of course, Mark, that's what we've offered to do. But up until I checked my voicemail on this Labor Day Monday and heard a message that Travis left Friday night at 8pm I had no reason to suspect that there was any other action needed. Up til that point, the last I'd heard was that the light was on at 195 deg with an oversize brush mower and the cap off the radiator....that is no indication of a problem with the cooling system. Although several folks on here made it out to be and got Travis all in a panic when his tractor was NOT overheating.
Problem with the temp sensor? Yes... and we'd already sent a new one.

I think your tractor should have been checked out by RCO before you bought it.

Yes sir, you're right.... and it was. Max temp of 183 deg with properly sized mower running, which is within spec.

They said that they checked it out and everything came out good...........Stuart told me that the only thing that was put on it to do some testing was a box blade...........

No, you misunderstood. After all the usual testing it was worked outdoors with a box blade for a while....but that was not the "only thing"

In one way to bash them might be wrong, but I have never heard of a tractor sold by regular dealers that ever had this much of a problem, now they may have, but I haven't heard of it. Nor tried to get the person to use a smaller bush-hog or finish mower, instead of just fixing the problem. That is my say on it, not trying to make you mad, but that is what I believe. And if you get the heating problem fixed I'm sure you will find it will handle a 5 foot bush-hog and 6 foot finish mower. Good luck.

Pruntyc, are you even reading this thread?? You've never heard of a tractor having this much of a problem?? After all the instances of radiators needing flushing in this thread alone? HGM says he had to return his first tractor for a replacement because he didn't trust it....
He "had a list of things I wanted addressed including several leaks.. Most of it was handled when I got it back a couple weeks later, but I still had a leak from the L/R axle seal." He didn't buy this tractor from us! But we're the ones getting bashed. And that's not the only story about leaking seals and other problems on newly purchased tractors in this thread alone!
We've addressed appropriately everything Travis has brought to our attention, I believe, including telling our customer to downsize his implements because they're too big for his tractor to be safe or efficient....not to try to skate out on fixing a perceived problem.
Now, let me say, Travis is now saying he's seeing temps in the 210-215 range which I don't like and we're going to address, even though he's seeing those temps with an oversized brush mower.

And, Pruntyc, what exactly is a "regular dealer"?
As I've said before here, some of our tractors come from Japan to the US directly, and some come here through a Vietnamese shop. These we personally inspect and operate before purchasing. Then all of them go through our shop for the same testing and repair process. We never misrepresent to customers what they're getting, they have the choice...it's their's to make.
I'm baffled as to why you have it out for us? but you're clearly predjudiced against us. But I'll stand behind the facts, and our record.

I can tell you from using a borrowed 5' bush hog on my 1700 with added water pump that it is not too big for the 2000, and never made it over heat in the least, I have guages. My radiator has been recored so my cooling system is in very good condition.
