Problems with MC519 cart

We have been using the MC519 on a GT275 for about 15 years and it has never come off. This is the first time I ever heard of it. I could definitely see the aggravation in it though. Kind of like when you forget to hook the chain up from the top and you dump it and the lift cylinder comes apart because you over extended it.

I had problems with my MC519 cart coming off the tractor too. I had tried to tighten the spring loaded bolts that press against the sliding capture plate but I found that it wasn't enough pressure to keep them from occasionally sliding back, causing the cart to unhitch. My fix was to place a small spring loaded wood working clamp (the cheap kind you just pinch open with one hand) over the sliding plate (one on each side). Cart never comes off, and I just move the spring clamps the back of the bracket when I remove the cart, leaving them on the cart for the next time... See pix:

even a clamp behind it or a hole with a pin in it to keep the plate from sliding back will work.

Fixed mine when I replaced the bracket with one that just pins to the tractor, without the slip-on slots as shown. Not much more trouble to hook up, and for sure does not come loose in use.

Also, added a hydraulic ram to dump the cart from the tractor hydraulics. Am thinking that a 12v linear actuator would be another way to go to make these MC519 carts even better than they already are.

late responding but wondering if deere solved it as my slide lock has a tab that goes in the square hole and stops the slide from going back till you lift it out, also I added a large washer with cloth tape under it to give more friction against the slider as cheap insurance..
