Hey Oaktree- we are in the same boat as you. Since we use wood as our primary heat source the propane furnace only runs if it is extremely cold or we are away from home for a couple of days. We cook and heat hot water with it too. Our annual usage is around 150 gal so a volume discount is out of the question. I've been calling our supplier every couple of weeks for the last couple of months and our delivery price has remained steady at $3.19 per gal. Today, however, they offered me a "pre-buy" of 150 gal @ $2.29 per ... I have until next April 30th to take delivery of that gas at that price so I'm pretty happy.
The folks in the office said that they aren't allowed to advertise the price available, but when existing customers call in they are glad to supply the information. They all get pretty tired of passing along bad news (price increases) to customers and delight in having pleasant conversations with happy people. You might try calling your local supplier and inquiring about something similar?
Good luck.
Frank
