Propane Prices

/ Propane Prices #61
Just paid $ 1.99 per gallon. A 1000 gal tank that I own and 500 leased. I have a 18 KW generator and like to keep plenty of propane during hurricane season. On the plus side I only have to fill up one time per year.

I think I found a used 1000 gal. propane tank, good condition in western Indiana. What do you think it's worth. Any idea about certification in Illinois?

$1.79/gal plus sales tax on 200 gallon or more delivery if you own your own tank. Some companies give you ' new customer ' discounts, but usually tied to tank rental, high use, etc....

2.49 gal for 100 gallon tank. I use propane to heat shop only south west Virginia.

$1.91/gal in central NC about 2 weeks ago. I have a discount contract because I own my tank and historically buy about 1000 gal/yr. I just turned on my geothermal heat pump so my gas use will plummet. I suspect next year I won't get the preferred rate. People I know who use the same supplier but who do not get a discount contract paid over $3 at about the same time.

I would like to correct my post, it is $1.709 here for at least 200 gallons in a private owned tank... not $1.79... [[[ so sorri, Grasshoppa ]]]

Just ordered a delivery for next Monday. 1.89/gallon if more than 100 gallons. This is a promotional price. The guy I usually buy from is at 2.18/gallon. I own my own tank so I shop around. Central part of SC.

We paid $1.79 in September, we bought 250 gallons. That gives 300+ gallons this will last us 3 to 4 years or more. Only use it for our stove, On demand hot water heater, fish cooker, and fire place.

I just filled mine a month ago and it cost .64 a liter ( 2.09 imperia gallon) and I only use it for my on demand water heater, my cooking stove , walk in tub ( which takes 45 gallon of hot water) and generator. This will be the first year for the generator so not sure how it will use till we have some black outs. When I topped it to 80% it took 240 liters so that works out to 153.00 for the year. So that works out to about 12.75 a month for propane. I think that is pretty good for here in Canada lol

Wow farmer that is a good price. The prices of gasoline is dropping a lot these and the oil companies don't like that they are not making as much profit. As if I care if they make a profit or not they have been gouging us long enough.

I used the pre-pay for mine in the summer and paid $1.799 per gallon.

Yea K man. I was satisfied. But I don't lock in gas as my propane company gives me the same price at the house as the chicken barns. Usually cheaper than homeowners can buy as its a set number of cents over rack price. Just have to be careful with winters like last year.

Perhaps before I pass away, there will be one thread on TBN about fuel prices where someone doesn't post the old wives tale that oil companies are gouging us. Nah. Not gonna happen but a fella can dream. :) Do any elementary schools have Economics 001, where the relationship between Supply, Demand and Price is explained, as a graduation requirement?

Where is that? Ottawa is paying 60ish cents at my firehall but one of the other guys that lives down the street from it and is the next stop of the same truck is paying more than double that. Called the co with a wtf and they said tough cookies, volume buyer discount
