They have been promising a new, cheap, clean, reliable, and plentiful source of energy for the past 30 years. And...here we are discussing banning cook stoves.

True and GM has been promoting EVs for 30 years and still don't have a successful mass produced EV to yet they have publicly to end ICE production by 1935.

Banning cook stoves has not been discussed. The banding of burning of fossil fuels has been discussed however. I do not blame the burning of fossil fuels as a cause of the current floods in California and Pakistan.

The biggest hindrance to flying cars is federal regulations (AKA red tape)...most early developers (and their investors) went belly up trying to meet said regs etc...been that way as long as the concept...!

If not finding liability insurance for said ventures.

Good luck to cooks (including professional chefs) who prepare dishes that require the heat to be reduced immediately etc...
Try it on an electric stove...especially the ones that you can go back 15 minutes after turning a burner off and fry an egg...

My recollection is reading that the Romans built floors with flue ways to conduct heat generated by burning wood.

Their houses were heated by a hypocaust in the basement. My dad had a cousin with a pre-electricity furnace built like that. Warm air circulated by convection. It looked like a big old octopus with huge ducts going to every room in the house.
