Leonz, my wife says I can't have one, because we can't afford the train tracks. Beilhack - Clear track ahead - YouTube -but I can see why you're voting for "front-mounted" blowers.![]()
Hello my great neighbor to the north,
Stache-don't tell anyone but if you call the CSX yardmaster in Dewitt, N.Y you can find out if the two Beilhack snow clearers they have are still at the Buffalo Yard relaxing and getting ready for the winter.
The HB900S and HB1000S units were purchased by CONRAIL in 1975 and put in service in 1976 and fortunately for CSX they received them in the CONRAIL massacre and separation of the CONRAIL assets, Knowing norfolk southern the way I do they would have scrapped them if they were given those 2 beautiful machines.
I guess we are getting more warm weather today so YAY. 30 years later I still wish I had bought a single stage for my wheel horse 244 hydro unit as it would still be useable.
We will not see serious front mounted snow blowers anymore unless they are mounted on BCS 2 wheel tractors, I passed on buying a simplicity mule this past year because the rear axle did not have a bolted rear wheel and the single stage snow blower they offer is/was a real joke and they use a vertical crank shaft engine and messed up V belt drive.
I did not buy a new snow blower for the new lawn mower as they still have the same )(*&^%$%^&*(JD/RAD 2 stage snowblower and I will not remount the old one on the old JD LA115 as it has done nothing but cost me money as the JD/RAD SPECIFIC V belts cost a fortune. The plastic chutes are another joke too and $140.00 each.
It was bad enough that they sold it to me short of parts when I bought the LA115 originally and I did not find out about that from a friend at another JD dealership from whom I bought the E100 from this year. He cautioned me not to buy a new snow blower simply because they are poorly made RAD JUNK
