Maybe I just need to remove that flat piece of steel behind the augers and get a proper cutting edge welded on?

Slow it down, use the bucket to break up that ramp, add weight, shorten the top link to level the blower a bit.

Yes, I had it much more level before I had taken those photos

The lever on this tractor controls the 3PH and mid-mount mower at the same time. I can put it all the way down past 3, it just doesn't have any affect on how it rides up the snow.

One thing mentioned earlier was about the height settings. On this tractor, it doesn't matter if it's in float position or in a set position (eg "3"), the 3PH still raises up on the snow.

===========================================================================

The hydraulic system for the three point hitch is a single acting system where there is pressure on the upward lift only as the three point hitch was designed as aground engaging hydraulic system to allow the plow to drop as much as needed to create enough suck in the toe of the moldboard plow or chisel to plow the ground as deep as desired.

The front mounted three point hitches have a double acting hydraulic cylinder as far as I know.

Yes, I agree with oldnslo and DMW. The link arms are too short. Drop it as far as it will go and try to get everything flat to start. This should help with the angle of the PTO shaft as well. There is no way you are going to get the tractor to apply downward pressure for you with a 3-point. Its gravity down, the hydraulics lift up. Before putting weight try adjusting the angle via the top link and see if that helps. That is what I would do first.

I haven't used a 3-point front hitch, but if it attaches to the loader valves in the same way then yes, it could push down. My front hitch (kubota specific) for the blower works this way. I can lift the front wheels right off the ground with the blower.

The numbers beside the lever looks like a height setting for a mid mount mower. The lever should go all the way forward to the end to full lower the 3pt.

Those numbers are just arbitrary reference markings for the 3PH height. They don't equate to any actual height. It makes it easier if you have multiple implements to set your depth stop (i.e. bush hog - #3, snow blower - #1, etc.).

Some do, some don't.

More photos attached

I was able to bring in the top of the hitch easily to the point where the blower started to tilt back on its heels and point upward. I adjusted it again and made it level.

In the third photo you can see there is no real cutting edge, just a lip of sorts.

Even with the newest angle settings you see here, the blower is still starting to touch down when I get between the 2 and 3 marks on my 3PH lever. Is that another indication that this blower is too large for my tractor?

I'm still trying to figure out if this can be tweaked or if I need to be looking for a new piece of hardware.

When you lower the blower fully, is all the weight coming off the tractor? What is happening to the 3pt lever? Is it staying stationary or moving up?

This looks a thousand times better. It won't make a difference which number its on, put the pto on the lowest setting, it can't push down. Once it touches the ground thats it.
