The optimum position for the blower is sitting level on the skids and aligned with the pto being as straight as possible. If your cutting edge is not at or below grade, the blower is going to rise. I can not tell if you have a an adjustable or replaceable cutting edge from the photos. If neither, I would consider welding or drilling and bolting a cutting edge that extends below grade when level and if too aggressive, shorten the top link to raise the edge.

When you lower the blower fully, is all the weight coming off the tractor? What is happening to the 3pt lever? Is it staying stationary or moving up?

Yes, if I go to the lowest position, the skids start to take the weight off of the tractor. you can feel everything relax. The lever will stay wherever i leave it

I think you are right. it's hard to tell in the last photo I posted, but when the skids are level on the ground, there is a gap of at least 1/8", maybe more, between the garage floor and the lip.

For the most part all CUT/SCUT 3PH's are always in float...there is no down force...implements will lift up and over anything they can't displace...

I have that amount of gap on my blower and it doesn't ride up. At this point, without raising 3-point, try making the top link longer by a little bit, to angle it downward -- will that close the gap? You probably can't totally close it but get rid of it mostly.

How I set up my rear blower was to lengthen the 3pt top link so the blower was level with the three point lowered to the ground. This forces the cutting edge [ the part that scrapes the drive ] down onto the ground. Earlier in the season, I would tilt the top of the blower a little by shortening the top link, this would raise the front of the blower/cutting edge up so it would tend to ride a little onto the snow... and not dig into the soft ground. As the drive froze, I would lengthen the top link to again force the cutting edge down. You can use a level on the horizontal arms of the blower that the 3pt lower links attach to. Normally, the blower is made to be pushed with these parts level, with the back wall of the blower also being vertical, and the bottom of the blower flat on the ground.

Does it actually throw snow a decent distance? It looks to me like the fan would turn in the wrong direction for the exit side of the chute. Could be chain drive, but if gear driven it looks wrong to me. Is the PTO reversible ? On some tractors it is. Are you using the reverse over-ride switch? Both ptos shut off when backing up unless you engage the over-ride.

Good points, zzvyb6. I would add to that if it is not blowing the snow a decent distance, a shear pin or key for the fan may have sheared off. And sometimes it will still be turning but not at full speed while slipping on the shaft. Same thing applies to the auger.

Yeah, throws the snow that it picks up quite well. It's chain driven.

torch2k, The picture of the uncompacted snow makes me think that the 3pt is raising the blower, or not allowing it to fully lower. The blower's weight is near the limit for your tractor, 600 pounds should be compacting the snow, even if it is rising up. When reversing is anything knocking the lever? I think your issue is with the 3pt, not the blower.
