Has anyone ever had any experience with a pto driven log splitter?
I'm considering getting a log splitter and then saw one that was actually mounted on the back of a tractor.
I wondered if there were any price/power benefits or drawbacks over the towed behind units with their own engines.

thanks,

anthony

You'll get a ton of replies if you post this over in the attachments forum.
Do a search for PTO Log splitter and a bunch of stuff will pop up.
I have one, I run it from my rear remotes. It was a self contained unit where the gas motor went bad so a friend gave it to me. Make sure it has detent position on the return stroke so as to max. your efficiency in loading the wood.

Yeah there's real informative threads in 'attachments' I was reading and it comes down to plus and minus's. One engine or maintain two. Tie up your tractor or have it available for hauling wood.
