PTO shaft how do you keep it off the ground ?

bungee cord to hold it upright when stored with plastic coffee can on end.

I spray the end good with spray grease then put a plastic Baggie over and hold up with a bungee

Bungee cord some, others I use the chain that is on the shaft guard that keep it from turning when in use. In both cases I have it from the top link connection point.

Has the added benefit of keeping the inny from dropping out of the outy on the chipper & tiller shorty shafts. This is really helpful if I am just picking the implement up & moving it to another location.

Bought a Bush Hog brand. It has a bracket to one side to cradle the shaft when not attached to the tractor. Brilliant!

My fertilizer spreader and my finish mower have quick buttons on both ends. If I was thinking I would store both shafts in the garage. I have used the shaft guard chains to hold up the shaft.

I use a bungee cord and spray the splines with Fluid Film.

Set the end on a short chunk of log and cover shaft/u-joint with piece of aluminum roofing rolled like rain gutter.

many have a safety chain you can click to the aframe.. that or a bunji works fine..

A coat hanger... slide the shaft end through the coat hanger and hang it from the top link attachment point. Upon first use, the coat hanger will go through a slight contortion/flexing (from the weight) and then you are good to go. Once that happens, mine almost perfectly lines up with the PTO output shaft on my tractor making backing into the implement a breeze.
