Well we’ve had a HECK of alot of snow here, at least at my work that is. The Mack was getting stuck, I got the 120M grader stuck several times, so, when in doubt, D6! You know its snowed alot when you have to remember “dont hang the blade on the telephone line!” 😳

Both of these were before the last blast that dropped a bunch more snow. Still fun. The local doe with her new twins and I think last years yearing were thrilled I plowed the road. All the passes across the state are closed for two days due tk the amount that fell, even the train that goes right by the shop backed all the way back down because their route was impassable.

It is very beautiful though.

You have way more snow than here (South West Québec). Can't wait to get a real storm so I can go cross country skiing without fear of damaging my skis.

To relieve a sore neck from using my rear mount blower, I added these cheap $25 Jeep Wrangler mirrors. I made brackets to mount them on the the FEL towers of my L3010, L3430 & MX5800:

They work well and I can face forward 90% of the time while blowing in reverse. The come off with the FEL but that's something I rarely do in Winter.
Where did you source your mirrors?

This looks like what I bought on Amazon a few years back. I really like them.

Thanks. Looks like they should mount nicely, right on the loader. I ordered a pair from Azn. $60 - same $ as CarPrts, figuring shipping...

I got about 1/2" of snow on Thursday morning. No problem, right? Wind picked up to 20 - 30 mph from the northwest, blizzard conditions. Completely closed my 300 foot drive. Spent 3 hours with FEL bucket and back blade. Yesterday, wind was from the south, 20 - 30 mph and completely blocked drive. Spent 2 hours today to clear it. With the edges being 16" tall, there is nowhere to push it. Used the bucket alot. PITA. TOMORROW, I'll be looking for a rear facing blower!

Great. I wonder what kind of selection is out there now, in the heart of winter???

On what defines a good snow blower , I think these 3 items would be at the top of the list. Weight, impeller size , and gear box rated hp. Later

Well, I bought one. A 60" Farm King, regular - backing up style. Seems it was the last 60 inch in the region. Called all the "usual" sources w/in 75 miles. No one else had one, the local "orange brand" store said he's been waiting for snowblowers, since last July (!).

I bought the last 60" this dealer had, it came with an electric chute rotator. Today, it gets fitted and used. Gotta find a place and wire in the switch.

Farm King makes quality blowers. They were on my short list years ago when I was in the market. I found a 72" LuckNow blower first, and it has served me well.

Me? Yeah, right... The drive home proved interesting. I thought I'd pull over and check the straps after about 10 miles, like normal. I thought I'd better pull way off the road, to be safe. Guess I got a little too far over, and WAM - into the snow filled ditch next to the road. No way 4WD was gonna help. 911 call, and sherriff and tow truck show up quick. $85 winch out bill, added to the $3k purchase price. No vehicle or trailer damage. Straps were fine...

Maybe not as pure and chaste as I thought ;)
