Pucker factor

Great posting! Thanks.

I have 22 acres of sloping ground ( 0 - 35% slope ) and have operated construction equipment for years. In fact, I tipped a crawler-loader over about 35 years ago...it took only about 2 seconds. Scarry ! !

The very first thing I did when I bought my L35 TLB (before it was delivered) was order the tiltmeter from R&B. No doubt it is the best "extra" investment I could have made ($35).

When you are in a "hilly" enviornment you don't have the advantage of seeing a level horizon to visually guage your relative 'tilt'. You have to literally rely on the "seat of your pants"...and also being a private pilot, I know that's not a very smart thing to do.

For sure, order it, mount it in plain sight, but don't be foolish. Of course it won't KEEP you from tipping.

Thanks, R&B, for such a quality product and prompt service.

Hi Dave,
Thank you for your comments and trust. We are continually
looking for ways to improve our meters, and hope everyone
likes what they get. We have quite a few o.e.m. customers,
(some as little as 10 pcs. per yr. ) but I love hearing from
the end line users. I am going to Yankton S.D. Sunday night,
to meet with a fair size o.e.m. Monday. I hope I can get
their business. (construction equipment mfg.). Maybe someday
I can get this business out of debt. and go back to playing
with my tractors again. Rick

I have my Tiltmeter ordered and should get it in the next few days. From my conservation with R&B I am very impressed with thier customer service and how they care about the tractor owner.
I've been bush hogging for a while now as time allows and the pucker factor is a way of life in the tall weeds, little bumps etc. Those little bumps will be history (I hope) as soon as I get a box blade. So far I've smoothed down a few of those old ore diggings with my FEL, but a few needs a bit more work.
I love my 'Bota which I now have 63 hours on.

I bought a tiltmeter from R&B last week for my new B7500 - and am very happy with it so far. My property has several sloping areas and, like other forum members, I was concerned about tipping over in my new Kubota. I have been cutting my grass for years with a smaller Craftsman garden tractor, and often felt that it was not very stable on some of the sloping parts of my yard. Rick at R&B was extremely helpful and the tiltmeter arrived in a couple of days. I attached it to the top of my 302 FEL grill guard at the front of the tractor using double sided tape. So far the tiltmeter has stayed firmly in place, and I love the comfort of knowing how steep an incline I'm on. I also learned that most of my hills have a maximum incline of 15 degrees with a few closer to 25. Even at the steepest incline, I have found the B7500 extremely stable when rolling at a steady pace, FEL on and cutting with the MMM. I do have a rear weight box, with a little weight in that probably adds some additional stability, and I have the rear wheels set at a medium width setting. If you have any inclines on your property, I highly recommend a tiltmeter for knowledge and peace of mind.
