Pulling the Pants down on the CK25

Make sure that gun is not too heavy, as we all know that lighter is better! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif If it is too heavy it will leave marks on your hand!

Actually, my LK3054 cannot pull its own weight up the hill in road out front in top gear. It's 30hp pulling about 4000lbs. But so what? I could move the hill in a lower gear! Maybe some of you guys go a heck of a lot faster than I do, cause when I need pulling power, I'm not moving all that fast. 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gear get most of the work. I've never felt power limited.

Could be the problem is that neither of you has ever used the CK25 to do anything. People who own and use them are telling another story. I'll certainly take their words for it, since they have the experience to tell.
As I've stated before, I've used the CK25 and don't find what the armchair quarterbacks find. John

Here is BOB's gun. It is indeed curved for better visibility. It never misses. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

John, the reality is that I offered an opposing opinion to yours on one machine, while complimenting several other Kioti models on a consistent basis, and you can't seem to tolerate any opinion about any Kioti that is not 110% complimentary of the brand. Getut, a Kioti owner, like yourself, who owns the same machine you own, happens to have an opinion that differs from yours, and so now he gets lumped into the same pot as me, and is criticized. Get real about this, I've stated several criticisms about the CK25 but many seem to be overlooked. The issue of have too little PTO hp for the size of the machine seems to be overlooked universally, and while I have commented in the past when a CK25 owner touted that he loved his tractor & tiller, I pointed out that his tiller was not even as wide as the width of the rear wheel track. Nobody seemed to see that as an issue but me? Or the fact that the size of the CK25 limits the manuverability in tight places like working in trees or around landscaping while similarly power machines can easily manuver inside those same areas.

I have pointed out the benefits of SOME models of Kioti on a very consistent basis when you seem to have a blind belief that ALL their products are not just perfect, but actually better than perfect. I also compliment Power Trac equipment for the qualities those machines offer, and no, I have not had much experience with them outside of one model; I have also pointed out some of the drawbacks. I have pointed out the benefits of Steiner & Ventrac machines, yet I only have modest use (about 35 hours) with one model, yet I compared each and have also pointed out the shortcomings of each (including my own model). Your blind faith of the brand you purchased is nothing short of advocacy, and that is fine, but it is certainly not always correct, and it is rarely objective. What I think is that many people may simply tune you out as a cheerleader who push his brand above all others regardless of whether it is the right choice. I hope that won't happen, but I believe you are will on your way toward that end.

Bob, you must have missed the fact the tiller is a side shift tiller. It's a non-issue.

Your overriding attempt at derailing the CK25 is what I believe is at issue here. Comments like,

My guess is the dealership either overpriced the CK30or dramatically discounted the CK25 to get it off his lot.

Since the CK25/30's have only been out for 45-60 days I'm sure dramatically discounted the CK25 to get it off his lot.....is NOT the case. I found this remark reckless.

I think the CK25 is much like a Corvette that has a 305 small block shoved under the hood instead of a big chunk of 454 muscle.
Are we talking race cars or tractors......

CK25 is best left on the dealers lot, along with the Edsel and more recently the Oldsmobile
I found this comment irresponsible.

Your bent on trying to judge a book (CK25) by it's cover. A needless rush to judgement. You've become obsessed with trying to prove yourself right. Take a break and let's see what the actual owners say. Can we give it a rest?

Kiotijohn has just gone through a hurricane in Florida,
so cool your jets just a little......OK? /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Yea Don, the CK25 is just perfect the way it is, I concede. All Kiotis are perfect. Every other brand, even the Jinmas are overpriced crap. Nobody has any innovation worth a darn, and if they do, they copied the Kioti tractors. And Kioti is a bargain everywhere in the country, even in places where it is not price competitive, it is still the better choice. Oh, and weight is not ever an issue either. And as for the 52" first choice tiller being side shift, I've never seen one of those, never found one in a web search either, I suspect it is not a side shift, especially since the origninal poster didn't comment (but maybe it is a side shift, I'll admit when I am wrong, and have in the past and will be in the future).

Now you have a bunch of other irresponsible comments to quote me on too, but don't confuse irresponsible with opinion, and don't confuse objective criticism with subjective criticism. I am truely sorry that I cannot evangilize for the CK25. I guess you want me to stop compimenting the CK20 and CK30 too.

Don, you don't own one of these, but you've obviously become the 2nd evangalist for the brand, have they sent you a free hat yet? All I am trying to do is point out the good and bad points of all brands, and that includes the ones I own. Why do we have to constantly bicker about every single issue when I generally have a very favorable view of the tractors and the brand, and dislike one model for many LEGITIMATE reasons? I'm not asking anyone to line up behind me, I'm just saying that not everything is perfect and there is a need to point out warts when they are found. I have consitently pointed out the faults of brands I own, and brands I don't own. Sorry if some people mistakenly think that every tractor from one brand is perfect; no one brand has a line up that includes only perfect tractors.

Bob,
Why don't you do us all a favor, including yourself..and try out a CK 25! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
As far as manuverability, a little skill goes a long way,
We were able to clean out under our not so big barn with the CK30, sure, our lawn tractor would have been a better fit,
but we were still able to get the job done! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
We have done quite a bit of work on our place since purchasing the CK 30 ~ and feel the CK25 would have done an equally good job.
As for weight, some people just like a little substance to thier tractors, and we even had the rear tires filled. Can't say that weight has been a bit of a problem.
And keep in mind, in the owning/operating forum for Kioti
You don't see alot of questions about were a certian bolt may have fell from, or ingition switches falling out.
I think that speaks for the quality of Kioti.
Now, Bob,
in you favor, you are quick to be helpfull and informitive to new members. So just to add to your knowledge base
Go get on a CK 25, and do some work..THEN let us know what you think~ /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'm not sure why I took flak out of this... heck, I'm one of the pack now. I think I offered ***MY*** 100% unbiased view on Kioti as a whole.

To recap and rephrase yet again:

I bought the best fit for ME of any tractor I looked at: A CK20HST. In fact, had I wanted another, bigger tractor I would have still went with Kioti as I feel across the entire line up that they are by far the best bang for the buck. I never state that they are perfect, and my PERSONAL opinion of how they could improve both the CK20 size frame AND the CK30 size frame is slightly increase the horsepower for both of those frame sizes. Would I own either one of them? Yes... and I do own the CK20 but if it isn't perfect, then it could be better and horsepower is my only gripe so far. I would still purchase the same tractor again and feel I made my best decision.

No to handle the CK25 specifically. I also feel this is a solid tractor and that it has its place. But in the same token, I feel this is the weakest (no pun intended) tractor in the CK lineup. How could I NOT feel that the CK25 is underpowered when I even feel that the CK30 is slightly underpowered?

I'm going to go back to work now. heheh

I've swatted the hornets nest, but hopefully anyone reading this will feel that I've given the most unbiased opinion on Kioti out there. Their the best (IMO), but can always do better.

readytogo, First, I do appreciate that fact that you consider some of what I have to say informative, but consider that a CK25 is too big to fit into places where I would want to use a mid-20's hp machine, so I would not even consider it. While I would consider a JD 4115, a Kubota B2410, NH TC24DA or a Case DX24 (or simply use my TC24D). Small frame machines have their place in the market, but just because a tractor has a small frame, does not mean it needs to be underpowered. Me, I prefer the extra 12+% hp and 3PTO hp in a small package. I also have a Kubota B2910 (30hp) and sometimes find that too big to use in many places (I have lots of slopes, landscaping & trees to deal with) and I also find that tractor underpowered. If I had to do it over again, I would seriously look at something like a TC or DX 33 which is basically a smiliar frame size as the B2910 but with a 10% boost in HP and a substantially more powerful FEL.

Getut, if I was you, I would get into a bunker and hunker down. Some of these guys would consider you a traitor to the brand, and it sure seems like brand loyalty here is overwhelming objectivity. DUCK, RUN, & WEAVE until you get into that bunker!
