<font color="blue">"Got some yesterday....$2.43 /gal. In Clifton Park" </font>

<font color="black"> </font> Clifton Park... brings bach memories, I worked at WRGB back in the 60's.

Just paid $2.47 yesterday in Gardnerville Nevada, near Tahoe. BTW, you can burn home heating oil in diesel tractors, we did that for many years with no ill effects, that may be a cheaper alternative.

Maybe I shudda kept my old Ford 1600, that little 2 cyl would run all day on a couple gals of diesel. Naw.....

Last fall I filled my tank for 1.19 a gallon. Three weeks ago I paid 1.6999.

Well said Soundguy.

Our two tractors are WAY cheaper than our five horses!

Plus the equines don't even work for us, they're so smart they've got us working for them...... /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

$2.50 will get me two beers at the local tavern, 24 ounces total (~1/6th gallon).
$2.50 will get one gallon of diesel that will run my tractor for 30 minutes.

Why do we complain about the second and not the first?

Soundguy hit it on the head. I guess $2 fuel is still a bargain. Nevertheless, it's still a shock to fill my 55 gallon drum. Enough of a shock to make me feel guilty if I play around on my tractor too much.

If I ever have to choose between beer and diesel, be a friend and just shoot me now.

As I stand in line at the grocery store and see "fru-fru" water in 20 oz. bottles for $1, I suddenly realize we as a society will pay whatever they charge if it is in style. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I have to agree with have blue, I'll get all my work done but play time ain't gonna be what it once was.

Common Really;

The amount of fuel these use the cost is minimal for the work done.

What would a shrink cost ya for your problems and withdrawals?

Still cheaper than milk.

Cheaper than water by the bottle.

Still a good deal, but it does not feel good to pay the price. The rest of the world has been paying for years.

Support the oil men, they run it all. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

I can sympathize for the truckers and farmers, but for the amateur CUT user does the price of diesel fuel matter a hoot.. With how little we use I don't think so. How many of you actually use 100 gallons a year? 100 gallons a year with a 25 cent rise equals $25 a year. Thats less than 7 cents per day. Let me see at $1.39 a cup of coffee, it takes 20 days to equal a cup of coffee. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif Nothing I'm worrying about on my small farm. Andy

I agree with you, Andy. The 5 gallons of diesel I burn each week in my tractor is minimum compared to the 40 gallons I burn commuting back and forth to work. I'm not ready to give up on either of them yet. I do feel sorry for truckers and farmers, but those costs should be passed on to the consumer in higher costs of goods and services. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
