Purchasing a New UTV

Why all that horrible cheap looking black plastic all over these UTVs? There are no clean lines on any of these. All, just stubby short, blotchy plastic contraptions.
I said it before. There should be Utility machines and "SPORT/Dunebuggy" style machines each with a different designations.

"Cheap" is the operative word. Why should the manufacturers bother stocking different colors that people might want? They chose black and that's what everyone gets.

That same thinking is now working its way into the automotive side of things. I HATE the black interior of my Jeep - but that's the only color available. Same with a Toyota 4Runner and even the new Ford Bronco. All interior plastics are black!

My Dad made a financial contribution towards the Mule. After I got it, I took him on a jaunt around the farm with maybe four inches of snow on the ground. After a while, I could smell the belt smoking. Switched to low.

Changing the belt on my Diesel 2510 is not a job I would wish on anyone.

I gotta say. I simpy HATE campact or some other equipment where you simply can't get at anything.
I've read many accounts where guys are stuck on a trail because their belt came off. No Thanks.

Had a few belt issues on a Polaris 6X6, always got us back but a real pain overall. Running a Honda Pioneer and a Kubota RTV, Love them both .

I knew a guy who lost an eye riding trails, so I never do. :sneaky:

Different uses for different owners. (see post #41) My Kioti UTV isn't a joy-rider, explorer, or icon of my coolness. It doesn't 'get air' or travel far off my ten. Dealer said it'll do 25 mph. I'll take his word for it, but have had it up to 20 when trailering the ZTR to the other house for two Summers.

In low range it'll do 10 or 12 going WFO. In any range it'll out-pull my smallest CUT, a 4WD Case/IH DX26. So I wanted a tractor with two (3) seats, top & windshield, and a cargo bed. It's nothing like my Nephew's '19 Ranger Razor, or Neil's 4-seat Honda, but we each chose for particular uses. I wouldn't trade mine for anything I've seen.

IMO, once you get over $15k a used Jeep looks good.

Just to clarify a few machines that have completely failed in the world of grooming, those and working machines is the world I reside in.

All hydrostatic UTV sized machines.

Let me add, if you don't do basic maintenance to your machine, I'd recommend not owning one.

Has anyone ever told you, you complain a lot? I bet you're great to talk to.

The plastic on my Ranger can get hit with stuff and not dent, break, or look like crap.

I wish truck companies would switch to metal reinforced plastic body panels.

Not really. I just know what "I" like and what "I" don't. And forums are for our opinions.

I end up with a lot of stuff in my life I really like or at least let pass, and don't compromise much, if at all. Not with stuff and not with a woman. Besides if you are not accutely aware of the "BAD" how can you ever get something that's good? And that should really apply to our society at the moment.

EDIT: I also have enough friends that seem to bend over backwards for me. Hardly makes me think people avoid me on account of negitivity.

Sheity black milk jug like plasic. Same reason I guess I always hated the look of the Avalanches, with all that plastic crap on them.

So I want to replace a blue fender and all I can find anywhere is a red one. (n)

IMO dealers have enough to do if stocking every part for every model to please those of us who want replacements available forever.

Not about any brands, but for me any color but orange.

Why aren't there red or blue Kubotas?

Why aren't AG Deeres all yellow like the industrial models?

Maybe I wasn't very clear. Yes the stuff is black. I like black. Very Utilitarian. It's the shape of the plastic that's offensive to my senses. Kind of like a childs wagon today. All this horrible chunky plastic. I guess the shape of it to make up for the lack of strength. I still have my wagon I got for X-Mas at age six. Hardwood with steel hardware. Steel wheels with rubber that's almost gone, but still in good condition. Wooden sides that are still in A-1 shape. How can one look at a kids plastic wagon today and not complain? It's utter garbage by comparison.
