The Amsterdam Recorder. It's an evening paper. Don't know about a website. I'm sure tomorrow's Gazette will have the news. Unfortunate event, but we still have Hands!

An Amsterdam farm supply store and the 14 local jobs it provides will be lost in a corporate reorganization announced by the store's parent company this week.
CT Farm and Country on Route 30 in the town of Amsterdam is among the 153 Quality Farm and Country and Central Tractor Farm and Country stores closing in the reorganization announced by Tractor Supply Co.
Staffers at the Amsterdam store said they got word on the closing over the weekend.
The entire inventories of Farm and Country stores in 10 states are to liquidate.
The company operates stores in Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Delaware, West Virginia, Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania and New York.
Another area store, located in Cobleskill, is also slated for closing.
The stores have closing sales under way.
"We know the stores will sell out very quickly," said James Schaye, one of the principals speaking on behalf of a corporate venture group that made the decision.
After the liquidation of the closing stores has been finished, Tractor Farm and Supply, a retail farm and ranch store chain, expects to reopen 85 stores in the Tractor Supply format by the middle of 2002.
Tractor Supply Co. operates 323 stores in 28 states, targeting full and part-time farmers and ranchers as well as contractors and tradesmen in mostly rural areas.
