i apoligize if im wrong, but arent you that kubota dealer that often posts on this mahindra site cutting down mahindra? i really cant remember for sure but your screen name looks familiar, i think ive seen this funny buisness before. if you have any questions about weight and stability test drive a mahindra in the same class "hp and frame size" as another brand. what i found,,,"and i was looking at full ag tractors",was the case jx series were the only ones comparable around hear but they were much more expencive.

Why are you picking on Messick when he asked a simple question about tractor weight? Stuff like this is why people have left this website for greener pastures. It is so much easier to either answer the question if you know the answer or just pass on the issue. There is no reason to be busting peoples chops over a legimate question. Being an owner of a Cub Cadet now made in India in bright red makes me wonder about the quality of these machines. I do know about the quality of Indian castings dating back to the 1980's with porosity problems. I hope they have found a cure for that problem in their castings.

I have to agree with many others ahead of me. I often have issues with the way Neil handles things. Not that he is out ot be malicious, but maybe he takes the wrong angle at some things. This time however he was quite fair and honest in trying to form an opinion when he's being fed info that is somewhat conflicting. If some Joe Blow New Member came in asking the same questions he would have NEVER gotten that kind of attitude. He only got it because he HAPPENS to be tied to an Orange dealer. CUt him some slack. He's no worse than Skurka or Dargo! :D

Sorry guys.. couldn't help myself...

Hey I can take the heat of being compared to Neil. . . but to lump me in with Dargo. That is just low.

Hey, wait just a cotton pickin' minute (do people still say that?). Before this came up, see my attack on Mahindra here
http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/showthread.php?p=952786#post952786 Just vicious I tell ya! That's my typical type of attitude towards Mahindra here but more often than not, I'm attacked if I ask any questions. Hopefully this forum doesn't become like one other particular one here where if you're not a member of their 'klub', they attack you and whatever brand of tractor you own if you dare post in their forum.

I'd have to assume that, like most people, I pay zero attention to what forum a thread is in. I only look by recently listed posts. In doing so, over time, it becomes obvious what areas have groups of people who are either very insecure, or just plain rude.

I'd like to try and take this thread a different direction and offer some possibly scientific data :) We can all agree that we love tractors and personally I'd like to own one of each brand, color, origin, but that just isn't possible :) (with my current income anyway :) )

I looked at the 65004wd weight on ther website, which is the one I got and the number they list (6280) seems to be a dead ringer to what I saw when I purchased it. As I stated earlier the weights are optional now and when I got it they were standard.

This is telling me that they did not include them in the operating weight.

But seriously, where is musa_marketing or a tractor dealer with a scale when ya need em! :) Please somebody with the right tools or data chime in and put this to rest.

I think Dave answered Neil's initial question quite nicely. Neil then posted a follow up.

As for Dargo getting insulted I just don't understand it. He has never said anything against the brand that I can recall, and if he did, I'm sure it was supported with some fact. Heck I've been complimentary of Mahindra too, but I will pick apart posts where people boast claims that are untrue, no matter what the brand. I expect to catch heat from people with thin skins. But I love the joking that the reasonable guys toss out. The only problem I've ever had with Mahindra is the dealer in my area. It is a garden center that got into tractors and quite frankly didn't meet my criteria as a quality dealer with parts or service departments that make me comfortable. In all fairness, Neil does what I do, sometimes with more tact than me, sometimes with less. But I suspect that he gets blasted simply because he is a dealer.

I check this Mahindra area at least once a day... Being a past Mahindra owner, I still like to see what is going on.. I can't believe this particular Mahindra area, is arguing over nothing.. For one,, Messick has posted here about three times or so.. Not very often. A couple of you make it sound like he is here every other post.... There is another area on this overall site that to me, seems to really like conflict... Don't need it here... It seems the last year,, TBN overall incites argument and not true thoughts and help like it once was....

The only other forum where arguments used to break out was the Oils forum, and that was primarily the result of one former member. In every other forum, people are getting and giving advice, politely.

Thanks Dave. Any way to check the Indian models? The Mitsubishi's are your biggest sellers right?

Neil, here in the west, the 15 series are the best sellers. We have started recently distributing the larger tractors and sales are up on them as well, but the real volume is in the smaller stuff. We can weigh the smaller units, but I don't have a scale on site that can weigh the big ones. I'll ask MUSA for clarification.

I think the moderators do a great job on this site. It must be kept friendly and professional or it is just a downhill spiral. It's all about how something is said, not just what is said.
