I have no problems turning the wheels on my L5030 while stationary with a fully loaded bucket.

Same with my little ol' B3030, for what that's worth. John, this behavior that you described:

What happens on my tractor with a load on the forks is that the steering wheel gets harder to turn and if you put a little extra effort into turning the steering wheel the steering wheel will turn but the front wheels do not change direction... The steering wheel will get hard then loose then hard then loose as you turn it and this cycle repeats over and over until you reduce or eliminate the load.
I have only ever encountered when I accidentally had a front wheel wedged against an immovable object... never with a fully loaded bucket. And like Talon said, a bucket that my FEL could barely lift.

If the dealer didn't put a heavy load in the bucket to see how it operates, then they really didn't investigate your issue, IMO.

I've seen a lot of sorry excuses but I'd get that tractor to the other dealer! There is a lot of smoke coming out of the one your working with for what I read of your problem.

It would be one thing if it was a power assist steering for that to happen but it still should just get harder to turn not go into a neutral and do nothing.

The manufacuters don't pay much for diagnostic time but we eat it, that is just an ugly part of the business.

I drive many makes and use many in small chores to check there functuntion ability and that is not typical kubota steering.

Thankyou to everyone for your continued help on this issue. I think at this point I will bring the tractor to the other dealer even though there an additional one hour drive away. I purchased an equipment trailer from the other dealer a week ago and was more than impressed with how I was treated and they even delivered the trailer for free to my home an hour and a half away. This whole steering thing with this tractor is starting to leave me exhausted.

I wonder why they just don't go ahead and replace the proportional valve. Seems they have no way of testing it. The rep. should go back to school and learn more about his tractors or call his boss for help.
