I would never say it's impossible to find that lightly used heavy truck. But I will say that with 3/4T trucks and up, the chances are much less. 1/2T, very common. It seems people spend the money and buy heavier trucks to use. Light duty trucks are mostly used as cars.

I noticed the local Ford dealer still has the F-250 on their lot that I tried to make them deal on a couple months ago. Oh well, guess they wanted it to sit on their lot more than they wanted to sell it.lol

Your absolutely right. I could eventually find the right used truck but my current inspection runs out at the end of the month.

Wish I had the time.

Wish I would have known before we traded ours. It was a 2015 F-250 4x4 crew cab with 6.2. It had 20,700 miles and was in perfect shape with a BW gooseneck hitch, spray in Bedliner and ranch hand front and rear bumpers. Got 27k on the trade in for it.

Ya, that sounds like that would have been a good one.

Used trucks like that are everywhere in Texas.
Lots more Superduties as status symbols there IMO (absolutely not saying that's true in your case). Also a higher population density in Texas.

My plan had been to fly to Atlanta or San Antonio (my family is still near by), buy a powder-puff used truck and drive it back as an adventure with my oldest son in a few years. :confused3:

Turns out I underestimated how much metal could dissappear per year!

I put a factory backup camera on my XL truck after the fact as it was cheaper Google factory backup camera and you should fine several companies selling them. You will have to have a after market radio or GPS to hook it to.

If you looking used, open up a little and look ar GM and Dodge. They are all good trucks. I just got my truck a few weeks ago and it was tough finding a used 3/4 ton.

Dealer says $1200+ to install factory backup camera. I think there's been a recent thread on this Ill look for later but...
Any aftermarket backup camera suggestions? All I REALLY want it for is trailer hook-ups.

I used these guys for my 2015 Factory Integrated Backup / Rear View Camera but they don't have a Ford one listed price was about $300 for camera and tailgate handle and cable to cab of my truck which I hooked up to after market stereo and Bluetooth/hands free system. I also wired so it can be turned on anytime.

etrailer.com has back up cameras. I got one for the camry that runs wirelessly to a separate screen for viewing. The screen for the tundra goes in one of the overhead bins. It utilizes the factory wiring harness. Both are powered by the backup light circuit. Jon
