Quick attach bucket won't attach

I agree with another poster - it looks like it might be a warranty problem. Also - you have a beautiful view of the hill - but why are you operating with your ROPS folded down?

Tractor won't fit in tractor building with ROPS up. I was not operating, I was trying to attach the bucket. When I do more than move it on fairly level ground, I raise the ROPS. Picture of "the rock" that I moved with forks and tractor building showing why I lower the ROPS, now.

Didn't have the bucket on when it bent. Had forks on with a hugh rock on the forks. Drove it up the hill, layed it down and pushed it into place. Think the lower pin came out when I pushed the rock. Left the tractor with the dealer yesterday. Told him no hurry and a week would be fine to fix it and attach a hook on the top of the bucket while he has it. Will ask the mechanic how he fixed it when done. I tried the pushing against the immovable object and it didn't budge. Have this rock sticking out of a bank that's perfect for the immovable object stuff.

Until I fixed my QA so that the pins won't cam out the only time I had them come out was when backing. Back draging the bucket or the fork frame drug in the ground coming out from under the load. When pushing they only set deeper into the slots.

My tractor is still at the dealers. They got the bucket attached and it keeps popping back off. They are waiting for Kubota (under warranty) to tell them whether to replace the quick attach parts or cut the torsion bar and weld it back. I don't think I will be as satisfied with the cut and weld as I will the replace the parts. This is 6th Kubota for me and only other claim was a bad wheel rim that wouldn't hold air. This tractor has 22 hrs and is only a few months old.

A proper weld is stronger than the metal...and you might be happier with a proper working quick attach FEL than new parts that won't hold up under torque.

That dealer won't let you hang...heck if they recommended the weld fix I go for it that's the experience you expect from buying from a dealer.

You almost persuade me but then I get to thinking. The factory parts should hold up under torque and be a "proper working quick attach fel" when they reach the lot for sale to us users. If not, then Kubota should weld all of them or reengineer the torque bar. I wasn't saying dealer was recommending welding. He is waiting to see what Kubota tells him to do between welding or replacing the parts.

I agree with you JohnThomas to what you said about the part holding up to the stress it was designed for. My opinion though, is that the design is not strong enough. Kubota needs to make them stronger, with thicker metal. I have gone to some of the dealers around here and noticed some of the torqued ones laying around. When you are aware of something, it stands out more, I suppose. Your dealer will fix it under warranty, I am sure. If you have any input, I would ask that additional metal be welded along the tube to the side plates.

It's home!!! Picked up my tractor this evening. No cost for installing new quick attach parts on tractor. Steve Barlow told me this was the first L model that he has had this problem with. Forgot to lock the ball on the trailer so when the trailer started up the ramp it came off the ball and the trailer front shot straight up. Pulled truck forward as the tractor was backed off to keep my tailgate from being dented like my neighbors who did the same thing. Then as the tractor started on the trailer it lifted the rear wheels off the ground on my Avalanche and then the truck started going forward. Was standing on the side so ran into truck and held brakes till loaded. Unloaded on the street in front of the house and wife came down and drove tractor into building on top of the hill while I parked and unhooked trailer. Hope I didn't make a mistake by letting her drive tractor instead of truck. She has taken over most of my power tools and don't want her to take over my tractor.
