Hey folks, I just got a nice new Salsco chipper to use with my Kubota L48 tractor. Everything hooked up fine except the hydraulic lines, which I can't get to snap in for the life of me.

I notice all the Kubota quick connects (male) have a little nipple on the end whereas the Salsco lines have a little stainless steel ball. Are both these supposed to be compatible with the Kubota female side? Or is this an Ag hydraulic vs. Series B issue and I may need to swap out the Salsco fittings?

Thanks in advance from Colorado.

I think you nailed it with the ag vs. Series B.

Sounds like you have ISO 5675 connectors on your chipper, and ISO 7241-1 series A
on your Kubota. My understanding is that you can mix them for only one or two
sizes. You may have the non-compatible size.

Or you have ISO 7241 B on the Kubota.

I have not tried it personally, as I have only had ISO As and Bs.

Have you got all the pressure off of the lines and tractor?

They should interchange without any problems. Sometimes the male ends are a few thousandths off though and for whatever reason, they just will not mate up properly. It is possible that you might need to get some new male ends. :(

This is correct. ISO 5675 and ISO 7241-1 Series A are interchangeable ONLY in the 1/2" nominal body size. All other sizes are not interchangeable.

Or you have ISO 7241 B on the Kubota.

Which do NOT interchange with any of the previously mentioned couplers.

I'm thinking this may be the case. Pictures of rig below :) and of chipper hydraulic connector. Connector on the Kubota side says PARKER SERIES 60

[ISO 7241 B connectors] do NOT interchange with any of the previously mentioned couplers.

I think HHG nailed it - I just downloaded Parker Series 60 spec sheet and it says:

"Industrial Standard: Parker 60 Series couplings comply with ISO 7241, Series B Standard"

So that seems to be the problem. Now - where to find matching nipples? I don't suppose they'd have 'em at Big R or Home Depot ;)

Local Kubota dealer, any tractor dealer? Discount Hydraulic Hose, me?

Good luck ;)
