Rain - what is that??? So far this year I have received 6.45 inches - as logged on my Davis Vantage Pro 2. And we are now going into our dry season.

6.45 inches - that's just a tad over one inch per month. I couldn't even raise popcorn with that little rain.

What's typical for your area? I've always associated eastern Washington with being semi-desert.

That's us Oaktree - semi arid. A little dryer than normal. A whole lot less snow than normal. This condition goes back more than five years.

A lot more effort and money being spent on wildfire education and control. I've been able to dodge all wildfires - so far.

Looks like La. will get the same front that is coming through Tx on Thurs. Predicting rains tomorrow
with some sun, then the major front later in the day/evening. Clear on Fri.

We are already getting that smoke.

We have been getting enough rain to get us out of drought conditions and the farmers are getting the fields planted. Good times. I even have all the garden in and it is looking good. No humming birds yet for some reason.

Here we usually get a fair amount of rain in May. But, this year, we have dry hot weather. There is a little rain in the forecast next Wednesday, a week from now.

If we don't get some more HEAVY rain soon, then this will be a long, hot, dry summer, perfect for wildfires.

Dang it. More rain all day today. And more on the way this evening.
Wish I could send some to you guys in Oregon and west Tx. Ground is
completely saturated. Over flows on tanks are spilling over (and have
been for a couple of weeks). It was dry enough yesterday morning to
spray a few fence lines, but then the wind picked up and had to stop
spraying. I think all of this round of storms is moving east, maybe to
La. or Ark. No big high winds....just rain and lots of it.

I left the job I was working on at 1 pm when the thunder got really loud and I started seeing lightning. It's been steady, but light rain where I'm at, but the radar looks like it's super heavy just an hour South of here.

My goats hate the rain. The horses usually don't care if it's raining. I was surprised that this one was in there with the goats.

Don't be too jealous. What you want is a good soaking rain. Not a storm/rain on top of saturated ground.
Houston got winds and rain. Lots of folks have power outages. La. seem to always get storms/flooded.
Sunny here so far today. But next week predicting 90's and 30-40% chance of more rain.....
