I'm NE of Dallas and it has been raining off and on for 3 months. I accidentally found a 3 day window and got my winter crop somewhat baled....good enough, but not my best work, and then on another 3-4 day window got my summer hay crop planted. Checked it today and yellow but 4" tall. When it quits raining and the sun comes out it will turn green and take off. So......I have problems and I have solutions....looks like the year will work out. From N.E.Tx.
Rain. Rain. And more rain. I need rain to keep my fields green and growing, my tanks full, animals happy etc.... and I know in July and August I'll be begging for some of it. But, I'm praying the All Mighty will just let up for a few weeks so I can work on
my fields, clear downed trees, spread more gravel/repair a road washout, regrade the driveway and try to catch up on other "rain-delayed" farm work. The ground is completely saturated. Two of my peach trees have drowned. I have good slope for drainage in most areas but have standing water in pastures. Last few weeks have been crazy. Rain, hail, high winds, Repeat.
Weather man says MORE on the way this week. Whoopee.
Then we'll probably have some 90*+ weather with 78% humidity!
Just letting it out......now I feel better.
I see you got hammered again today. Looks like some of that might get down to us today. We are getting behind on our work. That wind was intense. News stations are saying it was 70mph at the Airport in Tyler. I have trees that snapped in half. My garage addition was still in house wrap, or it used to be. The wind tore it off!!! My rain gauge shows 2 5/8's inches when we went to bed. Power has been off 11 hours so far. From what we're seeing in the news, there are areas of Tyler that are impossible to get to because of all the trees blocking the roads.
wet here , althoughFrom N.E.Tx.

I've seen that exact thing years ago. Brought in a crane to help. After insurance, court fight etc the house was torn down. No way to fix the foundation and damage that was economically feasible. Sad thing for those folks. This is probably the worse damage to a house, from a tree falling on it, from Monday nights storm. They say that it split the house in half. From the pictures, it sure looks like it!!!!!

Tree falls onto Tyler home leaving major damage, no injuries
“While we love our trees, and we’re so grateful to have the shade and the beauty of them, just realize, as they get older, kind of like when people get older, they get fragile, and therefore they require a little more special care,” a neighbor said.www.kltv.com
But you're a swamp dwellerAnother 0.9" yesterday and at least 0.3" today. It's still raining....
That puts me at 43.30" year to date, which is 4.20" above average.
Yes, it hit here this morning around 5 am. Lots of thunder and lightning, then heavy rain. By 8am, it was gone and we had another 2 inches. That brings us to just over 6 inches in three days.EW, did you get storms last night ? Started about 1:30am and lasted until 5:30 or 6. Heavy rain, high winds, thunder, lightning the whole show. Tapered off about 5am into steady rain. Try to stay dry.
