I think it's cool, but I can't speak for Eddie.

That rattler was probably exhausted from swimming and wanted in that boat pretty bad. It might have had a little more fight if it was closer to shore and not so tired. Too bad they didn't have anything to use to catch the snake and take it to shore. If it finds another boat, those folks might not see it and the outcome could be lots different. I'd bet the snake would not head back to the water if it was set down on terra firma.

Snakes (cotton mouths) are the reason I don't fish out of a float tube anymore.

When I saw Jaws, I decided that swimming in the ocean wasn't for me anymore. Now that I've seen this, I'm not swimming in anything!!!!!

What the heck happens if you were out there swimminng?????

This is going to give me nightmares.

The snake goes the other way, or you do. Whichever critter panics first changes direction.

It doesn't take a rattler to make me soil my BVDs. A harmless water snake will give me a start if I don't see it 'til it gets close. Luckily, I'm bigger and easier to see, so they are normally swimming the other direction when I see them.
