Sounds a lot like the old store that used to be at the old crossroads close to Ma and Pa's place. It was built right upto the side walk and the maindoor was at an angle to the corner.Nope. Pickles were in a big 2 gallon glass jar.
Two gas pumps out front under a pole light -- Regular and Hi-Test. Often pumped $2 or $3 worth and that would keep people rolling for a week or so.
Red cube-shaped tank for coal oil under the overhang of the front porch with a hand crank pump.
Pepsi machine out front. Big horizontal pop machine just inside the front door with the sliding doors on top.
Hitching post on one end of the lot for the few that still rode in.
Cigarettes were about 25 cents per pack.
We'd slice jowl bacon and deli meats to order.
It was a lot of fun!
Type A.If the OP had the ability to delete off subject posts, this could be stopped.
Some years ago, I posted in the land and garden section "I'm looking at a X brand battery powered mower, who here has used one?" and seen some good replies, while some just posting gibberish.` Then one guy posted "are you looking at this purchase as a religious or a political statement?" which I would have deleted if I had the ability to. The thread fell in a wasteland of !*^# and I left it. Some folks just can't control themselves and need to have there posts monitored or control in some way.
I've started a few threads, and later just left it because of the unfriendly or worthless gibberish fill thread it became.
What's a cub cadet?I POSTED a question about a cub cadet. Posted in that area. I figured there would be some response, but nothing. I like to help people with their stuff, but if its my stuff, placed in the correct area I GET NOTHING.
Is it ironic to anyone else that someone has deleted Arlya's post about being able to delete posts? Maybe he did?Type A.

I've found ArlyA's threads very informative even though his mission in life and his choice of machinery is totally different than mine.If the OP had the ability to delete off subject posts, this could be stopped.

Nobody is saying his threads arn't informative. I actually enjoy his cabin one.I've found ArlyA's threads very informative even though his mission in life and his choice of machinery is totally different than mine.
I apply that logic to most everyone's messages. While their suggestions, likes, and methods are often times foreign to my thinking, other viewpoints are very valuable.
The only ones that I object to are those that are totally off-topic and/or so opinionated without logic. For those, my Delete or Block button works just fine.
Yeah, but your Missus said you just turn it inside out on even weeks.I'll have you know that I changed my underwear just yesterday.
And it was a THURSDAY!
2 stripes and done.Yeah, but your Missus said you just turn it inside out on even weeks.
The only issue with the OP deleting posts is ticking off people who may otherwise be a good person but something just came out wrong. Or a jerk's thread and deleting the good guy posts. Instant conflict and Little Kings everywhere..If the OP had the ability to delete off subject posts, this could be stopped.
