They used direct burial high voltage cable that looks like a coax but is about 1.5 inches thick. No conduit is required in our soil. They had to add high voltage disconnect on one of the poles by the road and installed a "tombstone" by the transformer containing the main 240V disconnect and the meter.
Our utility (rural Coop member owned) run 500 ft long 25 kV underground line to a transformer near our house. Free installation. I vaguely remember 500 ft is free. Needless to say, our electric rate is about 50% greater that the big utilities charge.
