SmokyMtnMan, you run into all kinds of folks at tractor dealerships, just as you do in other businesses. There's no way I'd do business with the closest dealer to me, either, because I know he'll stick to anyone he can. As for the other things:

I agree with Radman about the front end loaders. I know one Kubota dealer who "pushes" the Koyker loaders and apparently sells a lot of them. But he's never had anything bad to say about the Kubota loader; only that he can sell the Koyker cheaper.

And that dealer's right; you don't need a tiltmeter, and you don't need a seat belt or ROPS either most of the time!/w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif Of course, it usually doesn't take but one time when they were needed to make them a good investment. I've never turned a tractor over, but I wear that seat belt and have tiltmeters for both side to side and front to rear./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

And if you can afford, and have a need for, a 4-in-1 bucket, you may not need a toothbar; just depends on what kind of work you're doing, but I can't afford the 4-in-1 (and wouldn't want the heavier bucket to reduce the lift capacity of my little tractor), and I've done a bit of digging in this clay and moving brush, etc. that sure would have been tough without the toothbar, so it was the best investment for me.

And of course it's a shame when a dealer for any product is more interested in what he can sell you than what you need (or want).

Well, I'm not much of an economics student....but I was just thinking....if a dealer refuses to sell me what I have researched, ask questions on here about, talked to Kubota owners about, and decided I wanted on my new tractor....and I end up going to another dealer instead of him.....what kind of "profit" did he make off of me?

Thanks for all the ideas and advice. I'm now following post on Grand L series vs. M series.
At this moment I'm leaning toward 4610HST with cab, LA852 loader, Landpride 60" brush mower, Tilt blade for rear, Curtis 60" PTO Tiller w/slip clutch, 4n1 bucket with toothbar , one remote hydraulic valve, tiltmeter

any advice on light/medium duty winch for same..would be appreciated...thanks

SmokeyMtnMan:
Get a least a 72" tiller and brush mower. You won't be able to cover you tire tracks with a 60". A 4610 will handle both easily and you'll be happier. If your going to have remote hydralics, get two instead of one. Not that much more expensive. I have two remotes and occassionally wish I had three.

Got it...thanks and will do. Just thought about the tiller being a little easier to move around with and get into narrow places better, but if width of tractor is as you say, wouldn't help any now would it?
Sure wished one could find a way to add on a backhoe to a cab model. darn it.

tractor is on order, 4610 HST with LA852 loader, 4n 1 bucket, toothbar, quick connect, chain hooks, two remote hydraulics, ag tires with ballast

deciding on implements with money that's left now
.i need a blade that will tilt
a good medium duty bush hog type mower, not necessarily Land Pride quality but better stuff than TSC has
Also wondering if anyone has experience with reverse tine tillers compared to regular till on the rotary tillers
looking for PTO log splitter also
all suggestions welcome

reverse tine tillers compared to regular till

Kinda wonder about that myself. I've used both kinds in walk behind tillers; either one works well, can't really say one does a better job than the other. I had a Kubota salesman tell me that the counter rotating tiller was better, but I've never seen or used on on a tractor.

Congrat's on the new rig/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif.Sounds like you got some great stuff! One thought on the splitter..I have a stand alone that I tow into place to run, leaving the tractor free to bring in more cut pcs. and haul out the split ones. FWIW

I purchased a Kubota FL1271RC tiller about a month ago. I was able to purchase a demo unit from my dealer for under $2000. It sure does a great job./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif Its 50" wide. One pass and the job is complete. This is the tiller to use if you're using it to finish a lawn. Reverse tine tillers require more horsepower to run than normal tillers. For a tiller the size of your tractor a 62 or 72" RTR25-- Land-Pride would work. Be sitting down when you get the price./w3tcompact/icons/tongue.gif I priced a 55" at $2700. I don't know who else makes a revese tine tiller. A Bush Hog dealer told me that this coming spring they were going to have one.

I would look at a self-contained splitter. It allows you to use tractor to haul logs to the splitter. I have used my FEL to pick up logs with tongs and set them on splitter.

A Land-Pride RB3572 or 84 would work great on your tractor. If you ever want to get a rake, it is adaptable. I have this blade as do a couple of other TBN members. It works very well.

thanks, I was thinking about PTO log splitters mainly because of lower price than stand-alone models were, but what you say makes sense.
does the 3572 landpride blade allow you to control tilt from seat?
as far as the reverse tiller from Landpride, yeah, I got the price from Carver on that and spilled coffee all over me when he told me!....unreal
so, would the Kubota FL1271RC not work with my tractor? or just not be wide enough?
