Rest in Peace
SmokyMtnMan, you run into all kinds of folks at tractor dealerships, just as you do in other businesses. There's no way I'd do business with the closest dealer to me, either, because I know he'll stick to anyone he can. As for the other things:
I agree with Radman about the front end loaders. I know one Kubota dealer who "pushes" the Koyker loaders and apparently sells a lot of them. But he's never had anything bad to say about the Kubota loader; only that he can sell the Koyker cheaper.
And that dealer's right; you don't need a tiltmeter, and you don't need a seat belt or ROPS either most of the time!/w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif Of course, it usually doesn't take but one time when they were needed to make them a good investment. I've never turned a tractor over, but I wear that seat belt and have tiltmeters for both side to side and front to rear./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
And if you can afford, and have a need for, a 4-in-1 bucket, you may not need a toothbar; just depends on what kind of work you're doing, but I can't afford the 4-in-1 (and wouldn't want the heavier bucket to reduce the lift capacity of my little tractor), and I've done a bit of digging in this clay and moving brush, etc. that sure would have been tough without the toothbar, so it was the best investment for me.
And of course it's a shame when a dealer for any product is more interested in what he can sell you than what you need (or want).
