Tractor
YANMAR 1600, Farmall 100
Hi, my name is Steve and I am a complete farm and tractor idiot...but I am learning. While I am a health professional I am also a school trained brewer, machinist and welder but orthopaedics is what pays the bills. I am fortunate to have a full machine shop and complete welding facility as my man cave/hobby shop.

With the exception of a large rabbit operation (had up to 600 once) as a youth I have ZERO farm/ag knowledge/experience. Now recently married to nurse that also has an animal science degree and some land I am becoming a farmer. New bride bought the place from her father and he is a collector of the 'post-depression' era. All of his stuff remains and will do so until his departure. Among the 'stuff' are 4 tractors in various states of disrepair - he won't sell or give any of it away but has given me carte Blanche usage of any and all. In that light I started with the tractor in the best looking condition - the yanmar 1600. The hydraulics would not lower and I figured out that one of the pistons in the control housing was stuck - disassembled, cleaned, reassembled and all seems to be working well but have not refilled tranny (it had a heap o'water in it) so won't get to test my repair until tomorrow.

If a moderator or sysop reads this can I please change my screen name to Eddie Arnold cuz I am real Green Acres guy...at least for the time being.
