About the cad plate, zinc electroplate, vs hot dip galvanized or painted rims...whatever...

The best metallic coating that is cost effective is probably tern plate. Hot dipped galvanized is good if done well. Some guys are having the insides of their rims for liquid filling sprayed with Rhino Liner and claim it is superior. At least the treatment is available fairly widely and tern plate and hot dipped galvanizing are not universally available. Regular paint is not designed for continuous imersion and has too much permeability in many instances.

I don't do liquid fill but if I did I think I'd probably go Rhino due to availability and use new HD tubes with liners to prevent thorns puncturing the tube. My corrosion experience on wheels and steel parts was from immersion in salt water of boat trailers and galvanized center boards. Hot dipped galvanized worked well for me, way better than paint on the chassis and wheels.

My liquid fill of choice is SLIME, just not as full as the rest of you guys may fill yours. I'm not philosophically opposed to liquid fill (in other instances), my tractor manual prohibits its use on my particualr model.
