Need advice on using the rear angle blade to cut ditches.
Just received my new brush hog 6ft angle blade. Besides rotating left, center and right. you can angle it to cut ditches or clean them. I have not use this and was just wondering how good of a job it will do and how hard it is to use. [/list]

Very simple. I'm right handed and prefer to look over my right shoulder plus it keeps me turned toward the three-point control and more comfortable. Set the blade with the right end of the blade as you face forward closer to the tire, start with about a 20 degree angle. Tilt the right end of the blade down about 20 degrees as well. Now while driving forward lower the blade until the leading edge begins to pull a curl of soil. If you have enough offset, you can keep the tractor on the road and pull from the ditch. Another method is to index the right end away from the tractor and throw the debris to the far side of the ditch, but it doesn't work as well in some situations. I hope these directions are clear enough to follow, it's a little late for me. When all else fails set the blade up and play, the change a setting and see how it works differently. The worst you can do is dig a hole, and then you can play until you fill it back up. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
