Well only had my Ford 3000 for a week and already have a rear flat. Slow leak as it takes 24 hours for it to go completly flat. No way I am strong enough to get the tire in the back of my pickup and never fixed a tire before. Am pretty sure it has a tube so what's the best course of action towards getting it fixed?

Contact your dealer..or any tractor dealer, and ask them if there is a tire service company who can come to your place.

Another option is to contact one of those companies that change truck tires on the road.

Ain't gonna be cheap though...

Very good advice. I live in an area with lots of timber being harvested. Those rolling tire service trucks are in my area several times a week. I've had flats repaired many times where my tractor is sitting. Cheaper than me hauling it 10 miles and busting a gut trying to load and unload.

They make the repair on the tractor too. I've had rears (16.9x30's and 16.9x28's)repaired from $110 - $135. May be higher now with the price of fuel being way up.

Thanks,

Just went out an squirted the whole tire down with soap suds, only place I saw bubbles was whear the valve stem comes through the rim. Close inspection didn't reviel any nails, screws or other punctures so my guess would be the tube is leaking inside the tire someplace /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Not sure if Slime would do anything, thinking it might be on the inside toward the center of the rim and slime wouldn't get to the leak.

It's worth $100.00 + to not have to deal with it...

I had been troubled with an intermittant leak in a front R4 on my Kubota. This was a tubeless tire. I have been having back problems so call a local tire service company who came out, pulled the tire and rim, found some "flash" on the bead area of the tire. Cleaned it all up, inflated, remounted all for less than $50. A bargain in my money. I inquired about their being able to service the loaded rear tires and was told "no problem". I do not remember the projected price but remember it as being reasonable.

I do not plan to fight any tractor flats by myself anymore.

I had very slow leaks in both of my loaded rear tires. After putting up with them for over a year I called out the mobile service and they drained the tires, put in new tubes and reloaded the tires for under $100. I provided the new tubes, they provided 10 gallons of CaCl.

I had to do the same thing a few years back, stem broke on my Ford 2N was winter, and the wife was in the hospital and i was working afternoon shift. called the tire place (they do all the big tractor and trucks around here) they sent a guy out that same afternoon, while i was at work, repaced the upper part of the valve stem, refilled thew tire with calcium and called me the next day with the price $85 . they sure helped me out during a rough few days, so they get all my business now. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
