Lighting on Kubotas is suboptimal, especially with a FEL. I've got about 50 hours on my L3410, and was not real happy about having to quit at dusk. So, last weekend I placed (WalMart automotive for lights, and local marine supply store for water resistant switches) two 55 watt lights on my fenders (off the flasher axis, just as the plastic curves down), & with adjustable (up and down) stanchions so I can light up close on a boxblade (just how much dirt am I digging into) or the road way back (blinds yuffies), and two wide beam fog lights under the top of the ROPS, angled laterally about 10 degrees for a huge coverage. I thought I might need another light, normal beam, between the fog lights, aimed straight ahead, but such wasn't necessary for working (now, blinding yuffies may be a consideration for the future). Kubota wiring is poor, so I ran two 12 gauge wires (separate for rear and front facing light pairs) from the battery, with in line fuses and switches I mounted on the fender. Now, dusk doesn't put me out of commission. Total time - 6 hours (I'm not real organized), for the lights, a fender mounted fire extinguisher, a cup holder, a tilt meter and holes in my FEL for a toothbar (tough steel to drill through - killed 2 bits). Now, if I could just locate a suicide knob for my steering wheel (not Walmart, Autozone or NAPA - it's frustrating).

I know this thread has been going awhile, but I just got lights mounted on my ROPS and thought I'd attach a pic of yet another way of doing it - this time on my JD 4100.

I took a piece of rectangular aluminum tubing salvaged from a support column of a trailer patio roof and cut it a couple of inches longer than the holes drilled in the top of the ROPS. I mounted a trapezoid light facing forward and attached to the face of the tubing for height. The floodlight faces rear and is mounted on the bottom of the tubing. Both lights came from Central Tractor. I had the strobe flasher for my 2N which I screwed to the bottom for protection. Each light has a switch on the face of the tubing. I connected it to the work light connector behind the seat so it is active only when the headlight switch is in position C, headlights and tail light. I may wire it to the starter terminal if I don't like this arrangement.
