Rear Rake with Wheels & 2 Hydraulic Rams

The neighbor has a rake with 2 hydraulic cylinders and wheels. He claims it is the best thing going.

Ok, sold on a rear rake and looking. The 25hp tractor does ok with a 7' blade. What size rake for a 40hp, 7.5' or 8'??? Thanks.

Most of all rake covers your wheel track at 45 degree setting,I would lean towards 8' rake.

Have to dig out the Hypotenuse, Tangent and Adjacent calculator to make sure the 45* angle covers the tire width.
Never could remember those relationships...

There is almost no limit on rake size for a 40HP tractor,,
This is my 40HP tractor with a 7' rake

Anything that tractor can do with that rake, I can do with my tiny JD 650 17HP tractor,,

The only reason the rake is ever put on the 40HP tractor is that the larger tractor has hydrostatic drive,, instead of the gear drive that the 650 has

Your checkbook is the only limitation,,,:thumbsup: :laughing:

Groogled Right Triangle Calculator
Did 2 widths of rake 7' and 8' as the hypotenuse.
Raked path width @45* is 5.0' for the 7' rake and 5.7' for the 8' rake
According to owners manual tractor is 62.4" or 5.2' wide, soooo, it looks like an 8' rake would cover the wheel track but if a 7' rake was a real deal, we could make do...
