Rebuilding The Hydraulic System on A TerraTrac Crawler

Looks like you got your machine working!! I'm wondering how your backhoe project turned out. I'm trying to end the long pause that unfortunately had to happen with mine. I'm just waiting for the weather to ease up enough to work without gloves for short periods and tackle the hydraulics. This brings me to the question I have about assigning the operating functions of the spool valves. If you know, from left to right which valves operate the swing, boom, dipper and bucket? I could arrange them any way I want but if an experienced operator were to use it he might get into trouble if the functions are mixed up. Cheers, Norm.

BTW, I restarted my original post about my build so I'll be doing updates from time to time.

This is my 2-year update to this project. The little dozer has worked great and moves a lot of dirt. My cheap eBay valve leaks from somewhere that I haven't found yet. I just need to plan a day to take it completely apart and tighten everything up. That may or may not fix it. The tank hanging off the back is really goofy looking in my opinion. I never did find a good way to fasten it securely, and it's held on with Boy Scout knots and the best cotton rope available. I'm still percolating some kind of alternative that works well and looks good.

Down pressure has been great as I throw a track fairly regularly. It's nice to just lift up the front end with the loader and block it up while I'm putting the track back on.

In general this tracked loader feels light on the back end. It needs weight. I am in the process of building a backhoe attachment that I started a decade ago in order to mount it on this dozer and increase the usefulness.
