This maybe a stupid question but is there such a thing as a remote starter for a tractor like you get on a car. Curious to hear from anyone about this. Please no insults just your input.

Never heard of one;My tractor requires glow plug cycle and the clutch to be depressed to start.

The only remote starter I can think of is my wife when she leaves for work. Let me know how this works out for ya.... :)

Do they make remote starters for diesel automobiles that require a glow plug warming?

I have a remote start/ anti-theft device on my car and I am sure someone makes one for a diesel also. Have you done an internet search. If it works for a diesel car then it should work for a tractor. If one requires clutch to be engaged, then you would have to block it down when you park it.

On the CK20 there is a hold down for the clutch so you can start it without having to hold the clutch down with your foot. See picture below.

So based on this the clutch issue is not really an issue.

my kubota has the same-ish hook, but I don't think it depresses it far enough for the clutch switch.
Obviously, it'd be easy enough to over ride...but that isn't necessarily the best idea either.
I'm not sure how "they" do it in manual trans diesel trucks.....
I could find no mention of diesel on Viper's webpage...

I have used this hold down hook to start my tractor without being seated on it, but since it is an HST, I am not concerned with it being in gear.

I have a 08 Dodge Ram 2500 (cummins). Just installed remote start from Omega Link. It has setting for 15 second delay before starting. Not sure how you would get it to work on tractor.

Good luck.

A better bet is probably a block heater. It would get you most of the benefits without burning the extra fuel or other drawbacks. Can easily get a remote controlled outlet cheaper & easier than remote start.
